I am also a 7.62x39 fanboy for GP. Ever shoot a VEPR in 7.62x54r or 308? If you are serious about guarding anything, throw in another $1000.00 or more for rounds to feed it. I also would suggest night vision if possible. My worry is States wanting this sport expensive and restrictive for our poor.

I don't agree. We have lots of liberals in this country and still have more guns than anyone. So that theory just does not hold up.
That's why the anti's went after the so called Saturday Night Specials, which is code for an affordable handguns preferred by people who live on limited incomes. It's not safe letting the poor protect themselves, heck some of them might even be black and the anti's, who are largely a group of mid-class to well to do whites, sure don't want that to happen.

I don't own anything double stack, I did have a friend stop by the range here and I was shooting his H&K 9mm, but it just didn't feel right compared to the 1911 style and I swear it had the same recoil or more as the mag ran out.

There are many laws in place to prevent that, but too many people don't abide by them, as such adding yet another layer of laws that will be just as ignored will achieve nothing. The only solution is to strictly enforce the laws we have and until that is done gun deaths will be a fact of life.
