Didn't read thread. Of course Trump shouldn't accept blame when GOP lose, he has been doing more bone-grinding campaigning for them, raising more money, displaying more superhuman stamina, than any POTUS in my lifetime, maybe in U.S. history, and for a lukewarm party who only half supports him and some elements of which are still seeking to sabotage his administration. Frankly, I do not support persistent, excessive campaigning by sitting Presidents generally. It annoys me whether it's GOP or Democrats doing it. In general, they should spend more time on affairs of state and less on the next election cycle. I make an exception in Trump's case because he has no choice. He has the vast power of the global MSM uniformly and near universally allied against him, and his only recourse is to take his case directly to the people, something he is incredibly talented at doing.
>>>Since Obama took office, Democrats' fortunes have plummeted. The party lost 900 seats in state legislatures, 12 governorships, 69 House seats and 13 Senate seats.<<< That includes midterms here, pal.... please stay relatively close to topic...
I don't think that they should say anything that denigrates an opponent during a debate. The moderator should cut them off. Debate the question which is what they are there to do.
Trump is doing it because he loves it and he can make it all about him. He is a showman and he is good at it.
https://www.cnn.com/2014/11/09/politics/obama-responsibility-midterms/index.html Days after the Democrats' brutal defeat in the midterm elections, President Obama said Sunday that he takes responsibility for his party's poor performance at the polls. "The buck stops right here at my desk," the President said in an interview on CBS' Face the Nation. "And so whenever -- as the head of the party -- it doesn't do well, I've got to take responsibility for it."
