I was a strong supporter of Democrats all the way to the end of the Carter administration. (16 years later)I listened hard to Reagan and he caught my mind. Only due to my reading that excellent book. A time for Truth.

Where i live, blacks never were any kind of problem. I believed they must have equal rights. i still believe that. (bluntly, they were less of a problem to the South than to the enclaves in cities in the North ... )

Democrats never were friendly to blacks.

Had it not been for laws, they still would despise blacks. LAW changed the Democrats tune, not a change of heart.

Republicans never at any time hated blacks. Blacks got told lies to swap parties.

Frankly it was cash that paid for the loyalty of Blacks to Democrats. When they added up dollars paid to them, they changed to Democrats. It was a pay off simple as that.

In general those changing are far younger. i changed kind of late. I was probably 42 when I changed. I did not suddenly change. It had nothing to do with Carters hostages. I changed parties due to an excellent book that woke me up. I did not know up to then the danger of Democrats. I wanted out of that party and pronto.

Stop the lies. I remained loyal to Democrats for 16 more years. I applauded the civil rights act. I was a Democrat living in the white west. Only in the Army and my few months time at Ft. Benning did I actually see the problems in the South blacks had.

It was more passive than aggressive in my opinion. Such as black schools and white schools. Whi8te only water fountains vs one for blacks. That is passive. Wrong yet passive.

Today Megyn Kelly listened to a black man whine over an old old practice among actors to use black face.

She should have told him about Hamilton. A current problem with actors of using blacks as if they are whites. What the hell makes them portray Hamilton and his pals as blacks?

As a very loyal American, just what is wrong with being a nationalist? Hell as I see it, that only means even for the Democrats, Trump represents them. All of us, not merely republicans.
