Effect on election of nut job bomber guy

The media is all smiles thinking that somehow this van covered with trump stickers will effect the election. I'm sensing a different reaction the left might not like so much. Voters on the right seeing how the media is trying to equate this sick individual to all Trump supporters and even trying to blame Trump for his existence will only make us more determined to vote.

 

I can't imagine many people will change their mind about who to vote for. But I agree that this might inspire the conspiracy theorists to show up in greater numbers.

 

Your problem is that more and more republicans, who aren't members of the dog pound, realize the republican party is in chaos and in fact has become 'The Party of Trump'. Some republicans would rather not vote or if they voted, vote for a democrat instead of someone who is in the 'party of trump'. There are fewer and fewer of us every day.

 

Yeah I think minds are made up at this point but gleeful media coverage of this wack job and their attempts to say Trump's responsible for him and he somehow represents all Trump voters will backfire.

You know, I don't think it will matter a great deal. This whole episode, including Trump's words and actions, might sway the odd Independent voter to go Democrat, who really knows. It will be interesting to see what the 'numbers guys' come up with on this......

 

I think people are level headed enough to know that this whackadoodle doesn't represent Trump or Trumps base. Plus, last time I checked Whackadoodle isn't on any ballot.

 

Yeah, I've been independent/third party for a while. There were times when I voted for more Dems and times when I've voted for more Republicans, but I always stuck to the Republican primary. I'm not sure if it holds any more appeal for me now, aside from local elections -- not if it remains the Party of Trump and a home for every nutter conspiracy theory imaginable.

 

Yeah, the only people who are going to be fired up about this and blame Trump or Republicans for the actions of a single loon are going to be people who had already made their mind up about who to vote for anyway.

 

This is just blatant hypocrisy. When will democrats take responsibility for thier incivility?

 

Any mild effect on the election would be in favor of the GOP, who campaigns on law & order every election I can recall. Not a chief voting issue for many people, and I don't expect the Unibrowbomber to change many votes one way or the other.

OTOH, if there is some kind of backlash LW riot related to this, and someone really gets hurt, that would be very bad for Democrats. Best thing astroturfers of the LW can do on this is to save their rioti... erm "demonstrating" for other issues.

In contrast, Trump and all his fans were screaming the worst kind of vile insults at Clinton, while the Democrats responded with "They go low, we go high!". If I went back and researched the posts from conservatives on this thread, I'd find most of them flinging some seriously vile stuff. There's no "both sides do it" here, as the liberal side doesn't do it.
