Georgia's GOP Secretary of State alleges state Democrats tried to hack registration

"After a failed attempt to hack the state's voter registration system, the Secretary of State's office opened an investigation into the Democratic Party of Georgia on the evening of Saturday, November 3, 2018," Kemp's office said in a statement. "Federal partners, including the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Bureau of Investigation, were immediately alerted."

Further details about the nature of the alleged hack attempt or its connection to the Democratic Party were not provided.

Georgia Secretary of State spokeswoman Candice Broce declined to comment on the probe, but confirmed that the state Democratic Party was under investigation for "possible cyber crimes."

Looks like Jake Tapper informed her of the investigation on the air today.

LOL! Can you say conflict of interest?

This could be taken more seriously if the secretary of state would recuse himself.

Of course, going by their leader, COIs are now standard OP for the GOP.

By your logic, dems should have been able to sit on the kavanagh committee.

The feds have been alerted, so they will be investigating.

Dems say they are for transparent elections-so they should have no problem with this.

By your logic, should someone be able to be the accuser and prosecutor at the same time, plus potentially benefiting from the investigation? Yes or no?

The same Secretary of State who tried to cage thousands of votes in order to help his gubanatorial campaign?

    That Secretary of State?????

Of course, he lost in court.

Now, he's trying the old GOP hail mary pass.

Alleging voter irregularities at the last moment.Announcing an "investigation". We've seen the GOP and various right wing pressure groups play this card in every election since 2000.

And the "investigations" get conveniently forgotten on Wednesday morning.

You won't keep an eye on it. The FBI won't be involved.

When the Secretary of State is also the GOP Gubanatorial candidate, whose attempt to cage 60,000 votes to help his campaign just got overturned in court, this is the natural play.

No evidence is cited. No prior evidence of any investigation existed until the weekend before the election.

    This is clearly a stunt.

You won't keep an eye on it. because it will be a dead story on Wednesday morning. There isn't a real investigation. This is a hail mary pass.

And I'm sure every AM right wing talk radio disc jockey will be pumping it tomorrow, and not talking about it at all on Wednesday.

Kemp has no proof that the Dems tried to hack the GA voting system but he is clearly using this for political gain.

By your logic the secretary of state can't investigate democrats.

Odd how your logic always resolves to dems being untouchable.

Just a few weeks back, dems wanted the FBI to investigate Kavanaugh.

Kemp's DESPERATION in full display (as he feels it slipping away).

Kemp needs to resign immediately, and he needs to be investigated.

    Isn't Kemp winning?

Sounds like you are supporting election hacking here, AJ.

In light of 2016, are you sure thats where you wanna go?

    No quarter. No mercy.

My side won't be half stepping. And quite a large number of my side are vets and combat is merely muscle memory at this point. Get back to me when you figure out which bathroom to use.

I am unaware where a law says if someone looses a suit in court that it nullifies all other allegations that have anything to do with an election. Can you point that out for me? Looks like "whataboutsim" which is fine when properly applied but doesn't apply when it comes to federal laws and agencies.

The FBI isn't concerned with hacking of a state election? It seems that maybe you think they have changed priorities since the 2016 elections. The FBI has been VERY concerned about election hacking on the state level. He requested that the FBI get involved. If they find out that someone did try to hack the state computers then there is something to it. If they didn't then he looks like someone with a political agenda misusing the system. I will be watching this situation. Sometimes I wonder if Democrats WORK at making wrong predictions.

If your election systems are vulnerable to hacking from the Democratic Party of Georgia, then they aren't very secure. Maybe Brian Kemp can explain why he stinks at his job.

There won't be a civil war. There will be more hollering and whining however. Maybe they could buy AntiFa more bull horns.
