Of course, businesses do need labor, which ia not infinite. That is why we have labor shortages in times of full employment. You are delusional to say otherwise.

Slaves were victims of world leaders who never saw the value of human life. Ask the Jews.

They also used big government to end the practice, and steal people's private property away from them. Gasp!

No doubt, and continue to be so. But those world leaders don't exist in the first place without reflecting the values of their populace to some extent.

The populace in all accounts was too ignorant to understand how wrong it was. IMO

the polls at the start of the Kavanaugh hearings showed Tester in Montana up by 6 points. Heitkamp in North Dakota trails by 4, Donnelly, Indiana up by 3, McCaskill, Missouri up by 1. At the beginning of November, Tester's lead was down to 1, Heitkamp dropped to 9 points down, Donnelly lost his lead and trailed by 1, McCaskill dropped from up 1 to down 3. If not a direct effect, the nay Kavanaugh votes woke the Republicans out of their complacency. All four of these Democrats from deep red states relied on the Republican leaning independents to win six years ago. I don't think they received those votes this year. We'll know when the exit polls comes out.

Unless you were watching the same election, The Republicans have house seats also. It takes 2/3 of the House to overrule a Presidential veto. The 27 seat margin in the house is marginal at best. Nothing like 69 seats Obama lost and life moved on.

The economy is fine, and people are employed. The complaints about "welfare state" are now unfounded.

    The end.

It was made legal by judges, who were given the authority to do so from their King. If you think throwing in "conservatism" means anything in this conversation it doesn't. There was no "slavery" in the US till the courts ruled against a man breaking his servitude contract and being enslaved as punishment for life. How it evolved after that, still needed government approval.

Why does the present situation get a different judgement than past situations? The courts base their findings all the time off past situations.

Or by saving his own capital from the labor he sold to others. Or by finding precisions minerals, or by winning the lottery. So many ways people become rich in capitalism. You don't even need to have employees to start a business anymore, if he gets rich off his own design, who then is he "taking the profits" from. You show your total lack of knowledge and complete jealousy for anyone more successful than you.

Since you are admitting to the idea that humans can be property, I see you show your true colors. You are seriously saying that freeing someone from slavery is a kin to socialism or communism? Other than the human beings, what other "private property" was taken by the government?

Yes, that's right. I want to handout free healthcare like candy to everyone. So? Feel free to attack that idea. Here, screech into this microphone and look into this camera, so everyone can see and hear.

You plan on paying your own premium or you want your fellow taxpayers to carry your load?

What did the Emancipation Proclamation do? It used war time powers of the executive to confiscate property of another state under condition of war, and on that legal basis said they woule be freeing any black slaves they came upon in the South and that they would be free forever, no longer the property of another human being. Property is only property in the minds of others, it is not universally and objectively true that you own your home, you own your home because we as a society agree on laws concerning rights of sale and property. Slaves were actually considered not just property but capital and contributed therefore to the total equity of the slave owning class considerably as a means of storing wealth and purchasing power.

If you look at it another way, Lincoln considered the South not to be another sovereign nation but rogue states in rebellion to the Union. So he was stealing property away from owners of capital within the state, without authorization from Congress to tax or to compensate the owners. I guess you could say by how the Right Wingers like to point Socialism, it is like it.

I want all taxpayers to be in a risk pool. Likely I will be pay more than my fair share, considering my tax bracket. You're welcome.
