I know this has been discussed before but I think it needs a new thread, as he may be getting close.

Mueller is about to issue the final report which almost certainly will have incontrovertible evidence of much wrongdoing. Even his lickspiittle Senate will have a hard time not voting to remove him at this point if what they've found is bad enough and IMO it's going to be even worse. This last election has shown that while his base is still loyal they don't have anything like near enough power to save his minions from the voting public's wrath. If the House impeaches Trump the Senate will remove him or they will accompany him out of office in 2020 and I don't think they're going to throw away their careers in a quixotic gesture for a man that has shown himself not only a political liability but downright pathologically willing to throw any of them under the bus at the slightest opportunity
    .
Additionally, if Trump has one good feature it's that he really loves his family and his sons are saying they're afraid of being indicted. I believe he would want to spare them that.

And finally I think he has finally realized that when he is thrown out he is going to jail. He will make the same deal that has become so popular with Republican Mayors recently. " I'll go for all charges dropped"

I don't think Trump will quit. Why? Trump is begging to be impeached. The House impeaches, and the Senate tries. The Democrats took over the House. If Trump continues down this path, he will be impeached. He already has violated our Constitution by appointing Whitaker as temporary A.G. Unless Congress acts or Trump withdraws his appointment, his attack dog, Whitaker, could serve for seven months.

USA Today reported, "Defending his decision to revoke a CNN reporter's White House press pass, President Donald Trump said Friday he may take the same action against other reporters who have questioned his administration.

"It could be others also," Trump told reporters at the White House.

"Trump said he pulled the pass of CNN's Jim Acosta because "he's a very unprofessional guy," and he singled out April Ryan of American Urban Radio Networks as another potential target.

"She's very nasty, and she shouldn't be," Trump said.

"Ryan, one of the relatively few African-American women on the beat, has frequently criticized Trump's attempted crackdowns on the press."

Repeatedly, he has attacked the First Amendment. "The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly." Neither Trump nor the White House explain what he is talking about.

It is called transference. Trump is transferring his faults to someone else, in this case, the media. The number one source of fake news is Trump himself and his countless lies.

Federal prosecutors prepared a detailed 80-page indictment against Michael Cohen that outlined Trump's role in directing payments to women to keep quiet about alleged affairs, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday. The report adds new details to Cohen's comments in court when he pleaded guilty in August, in which he said the payments to the women were coordinated with Trump. Trump became an unindicted co-conspirator.

We await Mueller's report. That will be the most damaging of all, and Trump knows it. It is why he is pulling out all the stops to make it go away.

I don't think Trump is a quitter. If he quit, wouldn't he be setting himself and his sons up for a chance of being convicted, for what ever crime you think they all did? As President, he can get them off.

But I think he will file a motion that the investigation was started illegally and anything pertaining to it be dismissed.

Trump won't quit if only to keep the malcontent lefties panties in a wad. He delights in sticking his middle finger in their ears.

If they find Trump red handed on tape talking to Putin offering legislation in exchange for knowingly hacked DNC files then yes, I imagine he will resign.

More likely Mueller has found more staffers who were corrupt in their prior lives.

The narrative will switch to "impeach Trump for his terrible judgement!" which will be a fair point, but not worthy of impeachment.

Michael Cohen is openly trying to save his neck through virulent lying.

"Attacks on the free press" is a joke of a talking point. Journalism majors are almost entirely on the left, many on the far left. They make up fake news (not regularly in the MSM, but it does happen) and present an entirely biased viewpoint. They rig these encounters like with Acosta for views because they're dying due to online independent media.

I called Trump out on his call for greater defamation law to bring the US in line with Europe. That was a bad idea.

I think when Mueller releases his 'BOMB' that there will be so much s--- on trump that even the republican Senate will have to go along with kicking his butt out of the White House.

At a certain point bad judgment is indeed 'worthy' of impeachment. It should be remembered that impeachment isn't about liability for punishment but whether you are able to be POTUS, which very few people are and not being qualified as POTUS is no real reflection on you as a person overall.

Trump may quit AFTER he loses the 2020 election, and only so his VP can pardon him, so Pence may be President for about 1 month

my prediction, Trump pardons his family for all the crimes they may of ever done, then he resigns and his VP does the same for him... Just like Nixon's VP did

I don't think we will see one. Mueller's new boss Whittaker is likely to slowly strangle the process before completion, decide who gets subpoenas, what details may be included and how it is edited, and he is even more likely to determine who gets access to a finished report, and under what circumstances. It will not be made public regardless.

unfortunately for Trump supporters there is tapes of him and Trump discussing this - so trying to say Cohen is lying is a stretch, the President is obviously lying

Impeachment isn't for that either. It's for whatever Congress decides it's for. They could impeach Trump and remove him from office for preferring vanilla ice-cream while 219 Reps and 67 Senators prefer chocolate flavor.

SCOTUS cannot review such cases, Congress has an unqualified right to impeach and remove the President from office. In such a ridiculous case the President would have no recourse but to resign or initiate a coup.

So yes, while it probably OUGHT to be used to kick bad Presidents out, it can be put to any purpose imaginable. So long as they have the votes to do it.

You mean the Nut-O-Sphere? Somehow I don't think stringers with decades of world-girdling experience are starving due to competition with Aunt Gertrude's emails about the commies in caves under Chicago or Alex Jone's ****** frogs.

the catch 22 is that if Trump is removed from office, 2020 wont be as easy a win for dems as if Trump was the republican canidate

I have, Trump wanted to pay in cash and that is just the tapes we heard, no telling what else Cohen recorded

it was wrong of Trump to do this, I do not want him impeached over it though, I want him to run in 2020, easy win for dems

I think their is money laundering, and that is why I think Trump will resign AFTER he loses the election in 2020, but before the next President takes over

Trump has to be Pardoned by his VP prior to the next President taking power - or he could go to prison if guilty of such crimes
