Why the Electoral College is trash and needs to be removed.

The US constitution is laughably vague. Unlike the founding fathers most nations and constitutional writers made each protection or power in the constitution well described and clearly defined as to leave no room for wrong interpretation. The US founders for what ever reason thought it was best to leave room for interpretation and have judges be arbitrators instead of protectors of the constitution. Also as well as being vague it is also overly difficult to change and fix problems.

The Electoral college is one of these issues.

If you don't want your constitution to be abused make it as clear as possable short constitutions don't work, its basic knowledge that any constitutional scalar knows, so clearly those founders were not very bright.

 

The POPULATION should decide not GEOGRAPHIC AREA just because barely anyone lives in middle america does not mean they should have more say per capita then populated areas.

You can't have both ways, either majority rule or minority rule because currently people want a lot of EU style things but a few again uneducated are holding us all back because they are voting against their own interest out of hate for the other. Its a joke. The only solution is to get delegates from each state (people who actually want a new constitution that works) to do a convention and write the 3rd US constitution, then via way of amendment for the new constitution we can get it passed, we have precedent on our side.

 

How do you account for such smashing success of this nation if it’s founders were morons?

You need to understand what “the United States of America” means. What a republic is. Why Federal powers are limited and state powers and even local powers are protected.

Why do you crave rule? You seem to prefer rule of any form to freedom.

Where has it failed? Why has it produced the greatest “country” the world has ever seen here?

 

The confederations of Europe, the Republics of the America's and the federations of Africa. They all had to create a second constitution.

As for the greatest country on earth, not so much, we are a third world country with a bunch of billionaires. Failing infrastructure, failing education system, low happiness, high violent crime rates, high levels of poverty, and corrupt government.

 

I used to think electoral college was a joke too until seeing all the corruption these last ten years by democrats trying to steal elections. Sanctuary cities were created for that purpose. Open borders and luring people in, in exchange for their votes is election fraud. What is currently happening in Broward County Florida which has been happening for years, is election fraud.

If not for election fraud and allowing illegals to vote, Mitt Romney may very well have won the 2012 election from Obama which was very close and Hillary wouldn't have won the popular vote against Trump. Framers knew what they were doing when they made the law for sure. But the democrats are corrupt and don't play by the rules. They've now figured out how to spread those sanctuary cities all across the US and load them up to get more electoral college votes which they hope will let them STEAL the 2020 election.

So although the electoral college was created to keep down election rigging from overloading the country with illegals, the slimy democrats have now figured how to rig elections using them as well.

Here is the answer to your first paragraph.

We are not a third world country with billionaires. Our poor are 1 percenters of world history. We can go into specifics if you like, but the fails you list in this country are not failures of the Constitution, they are results of corrupting and ignoring the Constitution.

 

'America' is a collection of individual states. The Electoral College, a points system based on a state's population, gives the residents of those states the most equal voice possible when it's time to select a President of the individual, but 'united' states.

It's not difficult to understand why leftists want to scrap it...they want the hive-minded collectivists...the people who are drawn to densely populated 'hives' of humanity and all the trappings...the subways, public transportation, the $100 billion dollar bullet train boondoggles, the high-rise apartments,
the crime, the corruption, the labor unions (I repeat myself), the onerous regulations, high taxes and higher costs of living....to be the permanent and sole determiners of the direction of the country (via executive fiat and legislating from the bench, but that's for another post).

Let me be the first to guarantee civil war if these United States of America ever trade in the EC system for a popular vote system.

The founders were escaping tyranny. They knew that mob rule was just as bad as a tyrannical king so they put in checks and balances. The EC is one of those.
