I have not watched CNN since the first gulf war when it was the first and only 24 hour news channel. I got sick of Wolf Blitzer in a hurry and haven’t tuned in since. However I love watching forensic files on HLN. I used to listen to talk radio back when Rush first got started. He was pretty funny and used to piss a lot of people off. Then when people started to take him seriously as a political guru, I tuned out. He was a great broadcaster and a pretty good shock jock comedian in his day. Then he got to be a boring propagandist bullshit artist.

 

How do you know if it is the truth if you never verified the heart of your claim?

 

We learned about it in grade school "Civics" class I believe.. Or maybe it was a local documentary? But at any rate here is a link to a site that talk to California's invasive plants and their contribution to wild fires..

Anywhere that a bunch of homeless drug addicts live there will inevitably be ugly scenes like that. However, as a person that knows this, I avoid those places. It seems like some people on this forum go out of their way to visit these places. Are there tour busses that pick these nit wits up at the airport and take them around to visit these places while feeding them Budweiser and baloney on wonderbread sandwiches? Just wondering? I go to San Francisco all the time and seem to avoid these scenes every time.

I live in LA and drive all over the county and never see any crap or needles anywhere. I go to public beaches here in Southern California all the time and they are great. Zuma, Santa Monica, Malibu, even Venice Beach is pretty nice now. Sections of my city that used to be shitholes like Silverlake, Echo Park, MacArthur Park, Mar Vista and Venice back when Reagan was governor and Nixon was Oresident are now great thriving neighborhoods with great restaraunts nice homes and safe streets and parks. It seems like these liberal ex hippies and our liberal government have done a very nice job of reviving our great city.

 

I don't get south much and when I do it's up in the Sequoia national park "Porterville. But to your point, in the 70's I used to visit my wife's relative in Canoga park, nice community then, shithole now! So going tit for tat will be a endless endeavor, that said, it's MPO California is hardly better off today then is was in the 80's community wise!

Northern Cali, frisco, San Jose, Gilroy, Hollister, OH god, Sacramento! and the bay area in general is frickin cesspool compared to the time I grew up there and what it is today.. Shame really!

 

That link just warns of invasive species. It does not confirm that it is the main cause of wildfires nor that someone a half century ago planted it planted this species. In fact, it says the opposite, the hot dry weather and lightning are the major causes, and the species of grass was spread throughout all of the US. Here are the relevant parts of your article:

Well that's best I can offer, invasive non native species.. They are a problem and many of those plants were introduced to control land slides! I suppose things done six decades ago might see me as a *********** but it's true

 

My kids grew up in West Hills which is part of Canoga Park. There are a few gangs in parts of Canoga Park but LAPD has been on their ass pretty good and the neighborhood is coming back. Great Italian Deli Caverettas is still there and Follow Your Heart, the first health food restaraunt and store in the valley is still thriving. There are a lot of Asians living there. Modest homes on tree lined streets. Pretty safe overall. At any rate, the way communities change has a lot more to do with natural cycles than political trends.

 

Last time I was there the beretta song bird was alive and well.. Canoga is lovely once you learn to sleep thru helicopters flying over shining search lights all over the place

But I suppose that's a gradual transition from peaceful to acceptable violence..
