God Vs. Science Church (God) Vs. State Massachusetts Bay Colony was a theological government populated by puritans in Colonial America; when Physician William Griggs (thank you Google) diagnosed demons and witches; people were tried and convicted and hung for being Witches in Salem. When the United States of America came to be, the 1692 Witch Hunt in Salem was why Church and State had to be separated.
