It never got made I forgot that bit lol! Rodriguez wanted to make one with #Me Too darling Rose McGowan. As a #me too founder she was quite happy to carry on with a married man but morals don't seem to have any part of me too just shouting and saying Vagina a lot.

I love Rodriguez BUT you can't improve on perfection ;)

Let's not forget one of the first strong women in sci-fi, Princess Leia Organa.

She helped lead a rebellion, could wield a blaster with the best of them, didn't reveal secrets, even under torture, bluffed a gangster by using a bomb, killed said gangster using the very chain he used to tie her up, killed a bunch of Storm Troopers even after being shot, and didn't take any **** from scruffy looking nerf-herders.

Also she's hangs out with Harvey Weinstein in this scene.

Damn the cocaine kept her slim in those days! She said that during ESB there's not one scene where she's not on cocaine which certainly peps the attitude up lol.

RIP Carrie you will be missed, saved many a film did Carrie with her scriptwriting.

Neither did I until Megyn Kelly's blackface shenanigans a couple of weeks ago. I rewatched Aliens since then and decided it doesn't matter and it's not racist because she nails the character and it's played respectfully.

The very fact that hardly anyone knows also shows just how good she did.

    Mom, Futurama

She's strong/powerful, and since nobody's perfect; isn't perfect herself; You'd see her smoking, and plotting and hitting and yelling, a lot.
She's not like Wonder Woman or Captain Janeway, Mom's an industrialist.

    GREAT topic.

Possibly the strongest female character during the 1960s - Number One:

It was thought she was too strong a character so that Mr Spock assumed the role she played when Star Trek was made into a tv series. When the series was resurrected, several female roles were said to have been inspired by her character.

Two of my favourite films of all time. Unlike what those helpless collectivists believe, I really give zero f's about the gender of a given character. These two (above) are too badass to dislike. :D
