I seriously miss my gas range. The shack has the old style electric, no gas available in my area unless we got a tank. There is gas at the investment house closer to work, and the plans for that one is for a gas range. If that gets done, a crowbar may be needed to get me back to the shack.

Agree, nothing better than a gas range for cooking. I actually liked the wall oven and cook top, but replacing both would cost twice as much as a free standing range... not to mention the stove's oven is twice as big as the wall version. Always fun to get a new appliance... and this one is NOT a Samsung (its a Frigidaire.)

We just got two new baby goats and Buttercup is leaking. Trouble...that's her name had a Billy two days ago. Shirley Temple had one a few min. ago. Shirley had a baby stuck in her last year and I had to cut it out. This one went without a hitch. Gotta go check out Buttercup and the kids. I helped Buttercup with her last delivery.

My husband won't let anything gas in the house after our CO accident. I want a gas stove but nooooooo go. They do cook better than electric. I did get to cook on gas after Hurricane Michael but it was out in the open air it was fun and the coffee tasted great.

It is sad. Buttercup is a pygmy. As wide as she is tall. She hasn't had very good luck. But we did get two babies from the other girls.

Good morning barflies. Happy Sunday. Anybody have big plans for Thanksgiving? Not me... ordered a complete meal from a homecookin cafe... will use my new stove to reheat it. Not sure how the pilgrims would feel about that, but bet theyd admit it beats hell outta cooking a turkey in a hole in the ground.

All right miss Texas, what is the deal with y’alls brisket? I’m a connoisseur of good bbq, and I keep hearing about awesome Texas Bbq brisket. I can do spareribs and pulled pork that my family says is to die for. I do a real good grilled tri-tip. Bbq joints are a hit-miss around here and when I find one that can throw down with proper ribs and pulled pork, I will sample their brisket and meh, it doesn’t blow my skirt up. My new favorite joint does awesome ribs, pulled pork, beans, red slaw, Mac and cheese, chicken, and fish, but the brisket is just ok. I mean it tastes good, but not overly exciting. Is brisket just a Texas tradition that everybody pretends to fawn over? Or does the rest of the world not know how to do it right?

I admit that I'm no connoisseur, but Harris Ranch has good barbeque.

Brisket is a personal thang. My friend's brisket will knock yer sox off. Heres his recipe.

1 untrimmed brisket. Trim off extra fat. Put in pan w 1/4 c water in bottom, pour bottle of Claudes Brisket Marinade over meat. Seal w foil... bake in 300 degree oven for 6-7 hrs (10 to 12 lb). Dont check... leave alone. Slice & serve or (Pour off cooking liquid, refrig overnite, then skim off fat and use to reheat brisket after slicing) (Can also be frozen after cooking to improve tenderness)

BBQ sauce on side... melts in your mouth.

PS. The best tasting briskets come from the oven, not the grill. ;)

They might viciously leap around demanding fusses, but they're really very friendly, and won't bite anyone.
