Destroying Family Relations can theoretically INCREASE Ministerial Salary Benchmarks in Singapore:

(There is just no limit to how much Singaporeans can get fixed:
fixing opposition parties; actually just creating a dynastic, monolithic and monopolistic authoritarian state, a hermit kingdom under a despotic monach...
    [IMG](YouTube; LHL: "fix the opposition"))

Our Minister's salary bonus is heavily dependent of GDP growth, median and lowest 20% income growth, unemployment rates.

All that the Singapore cabinet needs to do is to institute that wives must charge husbands a fee for having sex, meals, the laundry and cleaning the house. The husband shall charge the wife fees for car rides, errands, rental of house hold amenities and appliances and for sex and good counsel should she request it to begin with, celebrating her birthday or occasionally praising her beauty should also incur itemised billing (see KKWCH itemisation method at bottom).

As for the kids, their school fees are actually an investment/ loan to be repaid with dividends/ compound interest charged as a contractual agreement will dictate.

Automatically, overnight, nobody will be unemployed, not least the married/ staying together and better still, with kids/ an active sex life since everything that they do for their love ones will be itemized and charged a market price (some 'membership' discount may apply).

GDP calculated either by income earned or expenditure method will probably double overnight since all couple's interaction can now be measured in dollars and cents.

The median income will definitely rise since even poor people have families and kids and do have sex on and off: all of which can be translated into income and expense, which all amounts to GDP, employment, median and bottom 20% real income growth.

Inflation can me massaged downwards by shrinking portion sizes, e.g. by mandating progressively reduced sex duration or reduced food portion size.

Of course, with so much hardship and strife, people will be too hungry to listen to what the minister says, but hey, they have all increased their salaries haven't they (families don't stop interacting with each other and kids are still being fed). Thus the Singapore PAP leadership will increase their own salaries further to impress upon everyone the fact that they are honourable and respectable people who have the people's interest at heart since anyone who has children or sex is technically now not unemployed and also earns an 'income' for his 'service to others' whomsoever the counter party is.

With GRC system of election allowing the PAP to fill parliament with it's mouthpieces and sock puppets,:
'Without some assurance of a good chance of winning at least their first election, many able and successful young Singaporeans may not risk their careers to join politics,' Mr Goh Chok Tong, June 2006 ['GRCs make it easier to find top talent: SM'].

Minister's can probably determine any salary that they should want:
"If the annual salary of the Minister of Information, Communication and Arts is only $500,000, it may pose some problems when he discuss policies with media CEOs who earn millions of dollars because they need not listen to the minister's ideas and proposals. Hence, a reasonable payout will help to maintain a bit of dignity."
    - MP Lim Wee Kiak apologises for comments on pay

But no matter how much the 4G cabinet should raise their own salaries this time around, have no worry because the sky is the limit where ministerial salaries is concerned since according to Emeritus Senior Minister and Emeritus Minister Mentor to be Goh Chok Tong, S$500,000 is really mediocre, maybe S$4 million p.a. should be just right:

“You are going to end up with very, very mediocre people, who can’t even earn a million dollars outside to be our minister.”

    PS:
For those unfamiliar with itemised billing, pls take a leaf from KKWCH hospital itemized billing charges:
A sponge bath costs $24.70; $31.20 per injection not including drug used. Helping u swab your valva (vagina) will costs u $28.60.

So you are saying GDP is not the best measure of true economic activity, and incentivizing ministers to increase GDP could lead to some perverse incentives?

If I was in charge of Singapore I would probably set the minister salaries at around $900k.
Singapore does have a very high cost of living because of the density, and these are important positions.
I tend to agree that going over $1.5 million is too much. But from the vantage of running this as a business, those salaries could possibly be justified.

The GDP of a country may just be higher because the people are more calculative or trade more using currency. In agarian sociaties, people may borrow or barter and their society has a low GDP because they are honest with each other an do not keep account ledgers of what is taken or given within their society.

Point is that GDP is dependent on the accounting/ ledger system and simply going into extremis of accounting and billing each other for acts of loveland ove kind couple's should do freely towards each other would increase GDP by a few folds, however this also reveals the weakness of the GDP system of economic measurement or the inaccuracies inheritant in GDP method of economic measurements.

    I agree with that perspective.

That's also one of the criticisms the Feminist perspective levels against the mainstream economic understanding.
