Mass Exodus from NYC Due to Taxes

Taxes have begun to cross the point of no return in New York City.

New York City is losing its middle class faster than at any time since the Great Depression. The rich get richer from investments and the poor get richer from increased social benefits. The loser is always the middle class.

The latest Census data reveals that NYC is losing 100 residents each and every day as people are simply fleeing in search of a better quality of life where the local governments are less oppressive.

It is the average worker who pays payroll taxes who the governments can count on until now. The tax-increases have been relentless, the ever-rising living costs accelerated by real estate taxes, and insane healthcare increases every year, and wage reductions as technological advances help replace workers without pensions and healthcare costs.

Those of the middle-class who have any brains left are looking for greener pastures, just to survive.

That is enormous... 100 people leave every day because they can't afford the high taxes!

Apparently, New York is America's largest City and has a population of about 8.6 million. Many millionaires and billionaires live there.
I was only once in New York and that was in 1959! I didn't see any millionaires, leave alone billionaires! But I saw a man lying on the subway platform, bleeding from a head wound.

 

Sounds good to me. I hope they come to flyover country. We like middle class

 

NYC - like L.A., now eager to emulate it - is in a constant state of expansion and implosion.

Someday, the implosion may win out...

 

Firstly - based on estimated census figures, we won't have a full picture until the full census.

Secondly - how is the author so sure that any drop is population is solely due to taxes and not to housing affordability, jobs availability or a myriad other causes ?

Thirdly, the drop is an estimated 300k in 17+ million, possibly a rounding error

 

You might have added a zero - its about 36,000 if the figures are accurate. The article is just a series of assertions & opinions, which is no surprise given who posted it. Only a matter of time before 'the Jews' get a mention.

If the US economy is collapsing then why is the Federal Reserve raising interest rates?

 

Is that a net or aggregate loss — how many people are entering a day?

I would assume housing prices would be more of an incentive to move than taxes but...

 

The article gives no such information. One would have to do some investigating and interviews with those people who are heading for the hills or plains.

 

Regardless of the source of this story, it's amazing how the left will deny what is common sense logic. When run by Democrats long enough, a city/state will eventually implode.

I just read that the upperclass doesn't want to pay a higher salary to the middle class, and so they leave.

 

At least the exodus will cause housing costs to decline.

Supposedly, there are only about 15 million Jews in the world. The impression I get from that article and in general is, that each Jew is at the very least a millionaire, no matter his station in life.
But then there are guys like Michael Bloomberg with some 35+ billion!!! Or the Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin with a net worth of 23 billion, probably double by now!

Your 'impressions' about the number of Jewish millionaires are in the same category as your 'impressions' that only a few hundred thousand Jews were killed in the Holocaust or that Hitler was really a nice guy. The advantage of living in a vile little fictional universe is that anything an ill informed and prejudiced mind can make up becomes 'true'. Closed loop.

And, in typical fashion, you produce a source with no references that is close to 100% opinion. You have not produced a shred of evidence to prove the assertion that taxes are forcing people to leave NYC. You have also not produced a shred of proof for the drop in population, which, if true, would constitute less than .5% of the population. Not exactly a stampede.

In fact, if you could get 100 people per day to leave my city people would give you a medal. We have a problem with a growing population. Given that we have the largest Jewish population of any city in my country you will no doubt find a way to make that the fault of Jews too.
