They could always try to fix the massive leadership problems in units across the Army that are killing retention, but no, that would be a smart idea.

 

Seattle recruiters are having a hard time not because the city is predominantly Liberal, but because better opportunities exist elsewhere. This has always been true.

 

You are right and that is why they actively recruit at MIT and Harvard.

 

The Army now has standards. That mean ‘A’dro’pian and De’lavan’qwan won’t cut it either.

 

The armed forces actively recruit across all socioeconomic classes.

Some recruits are destined to be cannon fodder, and some are destined to lead. This isn't any great conspiracy.

 

Maybe they should focus on the burbs then where they will get less of that inner-city low-life drop-outs and the like.

They had a bit where someone in the military was swearing-in several new recruits.

God Bless those newbies but they couldn't follow along re-reciting what the Marine swearing them in was saying.

Very true. Anyone who joins the Army or any branch of the US military can choose his own path. It is hard to screw up if you have a desire to succeed.

 

I missed that show. My VP is a former submarine officer and my old boss is a West Point grad who served across the globe. They both love our military but said our school system isn’t providing them with educated people.

 

I think Jeff Bezos is saying the same thing.

 

I know a similar story. What I can say is that our military will train you if you have the desire. If you are willing to serve, our military can and does reward those who are worthy not only with a life education but with an academic education worth well over a million dollars.

 

...but not being a pendejo right out the gate helps a lot.

Some kids in the military do stupid stuff and do get in trouble. The military will go to extremes to make sure you don't continually screw up unless you want out. If you did the same stupid people trick on the outside the outcome will usually be less favorable.

 

We need something. There have been quite a few plane and helicopter, and ship ramming incidents lately; and I think its because of the lack of critical thinking skills, training, and loyalty. They should give prospective recruits IQ tests, and lie detector tests for loyalty. They should stop putting people into positions of leadership just because they need to satisfy diversity 'guidelines'.

 

What are you saying--that the snowflakes couldn't handle the military? Can you imagine a snowflake being on the battle field when they freak out over just midterms to the point of having screaming fits, needing safe spaces and emotional support animals? Imagine the good sergeant tying to whip these little know-it-all babies into shape?

 

Maybe they should go into the neighborhoods of illegals, and offer them citizenship for signing up for 6 years--or so.

 

Maybe they can't do math, can't read or write, but they are skilled in multiculturalism and diversity; and that seems to be what's important today.

 

Are you talking about red staters? Because most red states economy suck and all the innovations and new technologies are mostly in the liberal areas.

Really? Edison was a conservative, and so was Nikola Tesla, and Henry Ford, Willis Carrier--air conditioners, Werner von Braun; and the list goes on.
