I repeat, guns are traded or just given away much too easily with no traceability records or responsibility as if they are just toys.

    You stated:
If people did not leave their guns just lying around as if they were toys for any intruder to pick up then they would not have been stolen.
How many guns are stolen because people left them lying around?
    Support your assertion.

You tell me how many are stolen from the police or military and then quote that percentage of the total number of guns in circulation

You are the one who wrote this : "Even the ones stolen from the police? The military? Those kept in safes?"

So I'm going to say it is insignificant so prove me wrong.

I repeat, guns are traded or just given away much too easily with no traceability records or responsibility as if they are just toys.

Yes. I asked you a series of questions, based on your assertion. Can you answer those questions?
Can you tell us how many guns are stolen because, as you assert, people left them lying around?

You made an assertion - onus is on you to support it. Get busy.

Given that there are no records, how do you know how many are traded or given away too easily? What is the maximum number of firearms that could be given away or traded that would result from your idea of a law that made it sufficiently difficult to do so?

Yeah, their reasons for wanting their posts deleted don't want to be made plain to everyone else, for obvious reasons.

Many feelings were hurt that day.

That's getting there. You can legally buy a gun and give it to your wayward son and have no responsibility for what he does with it including him selling it on for drugs. You pass the background checks but no checks required for him. Great isn't it

Look at this evil, white, racially motivated bigot. Drove a red truck and lived in Texas, c’mon, he gotta be white. It’s funny, the little girl is still dead regardless of the shooters race, but in today’s society that’s not even the focal point of the story.

Very difficult to support something that is just a feeling influenced by an obvious bias.

Does it make any difference? Guns are stolen all the time. Some of it is due to stores that will not permit concealed carries in their stores. Forcing owners to leave them in a car. Others are stolen in home burglaries. No one can completely be safe from thieves. To hold the legal owners of weapons liable for the acts of thieves is disingenuous. If someone steals your car then does a drive by shooting should you be liable? After all this would never have happened if you had secured your vehicle.

If he knows his son is banned from having a gun then he has committed a straw purchase and can be charged.

Yes, if he is banned. What do you have to do to get banned from owning a gun, be alcoholic - nope, be on drugs - nope, regularly beat up one of your parents - probably not because unlikely it was reported or charges dropped, and the list continues. But hey, give him a gun might turn him around......not the parents responsibility what he does with the gun - sell it on for more drugs and that gun is now not traceable - never mind just buy him another gun and give him a second chance - rinse and repeat

Appears there were multiple civil liability cases but he claimed he talked to police and that he didn't know about his son's mental illness, I can't find out what the results of the hearing was.

But, here's an older one where the father was criminally charged.
