The UK is becoming a pain in the EU arse. If you leave, they won't want you back.
But I can take a flight from North America, land in Europe, flash my passport and go anywhere in Europe you can. If you happen to start from North America, you have to show your passport, too.

The one that thinks Germany betrayed Europe by inviting millions of barbarians in. Again. The first time was in the 60's with the Turkish "gastarbeiters".

This seems to confirm that a No Deal Brexit will lead to both a vote for Irish Reunification and Scottish Independence

    https://www.politicshome.com/news/u...958/ministers-discuss-prospect-break-uk-event

I heard the other day that the DUP, I am sure it was Foster, would prefer a No Deal than May's due to the Backstop. The woman is appearing crazy.

Yeah, sure--the UK has gone from the poor man of Europe to one of the wealthier countries since it has been in the EU.

As someone over 65, I am careful to look at what younger Americans want (and Canadians--I added Canadian citizenship in 1974) when I push for this or that policy. Older Brits might consider that younger Brits don't want Brexit.

Interesting watching the BBC news, Hilary Benn has been to see her. He also said No Deal must be taken off the table. The BBC asked if she had suggested anything new. He said No and they cut off before he could say anything else. So going along with this, the Brexiteers were apparently very happy after seeing her and indeed looked in fine celebratory mood and indeed Arlene Foster looked happy as well saying she thought a deal could be arranged as long as the Backstop was removed.

I gave it 2 years, but since one year passed, I'm given it a half year more.

Not according to Nigel Farage. He said that not one country has gained from the EU other than Germany. The funny thing is that even the Germans want out.

Now let's hope the next will be Nato. Good luck, good riddance! Maybe we'll see some peace in the world finally.

From what I can tell Germany is scr*wing Britain big time. They wanted to make sure no one else get's any idea's about leaving and they end up losing their cash trove. Oh, but now the EU is getting panicky - GOOD! After the way they wanted to hurt Britain, they deserve a no deal Brexit..

I remember Cameron saying his government had the UK "hitting above its weight." Thinly disguised nostalgia for the Empire.

Not a single country of the EU 27 wants to leave, they all have a lot to lose. Not only in economic aspects but in territorial and ethnic questions. Just have a look at all the minorities in the different countries which could seek independence and bring back the dark times of nationalism in Europe.

Of course they don't, because they're all beneficiaries. If you were a member of a club that paid you a lot of money to be a member, would you want to leave it?

Well yes all EU members benefit from EU membership - that's the reason why they're in the EU.

For example, the UK is a net financial contributor to the EU budget (as are 11 other countries), but we receive all kinds of benefits, some economically tangible ones as a result of access to labour and lower logistical costs as a result of the customs union, some intangible benefits like cleaner beaches.

Can you tell me which ones, because until very recently the only net contributors were the UK. France, and Germany. Do you believe the 'Salisbury' story?
