    Ever heard of irony?

It is a historical reference to the Holy Roman Empire. It was always said by a German politician in response to the US Ambassador's letter (i.e., he's acting like a Viceroy).

This issue is now one, which sctaches the Red Line. Grenell has not the first time broken a diplomatic taboo but this time this is really hard to the max limit.
Not only few people argue to send him a clear warning that if he does such a thing ever again, he will be expelled from Germany ... so in football (siccer) language to give him a yellow card! Some also argue he should still be expelled now of course = a red card!

We speak herw about an issue where US public and politicians would run amok if this would ever be done by any ambassador of an other country in the USA...

Russia does not have control over the world LNG market - not even close. OPEC did have control. It was not like you had an alternative to OPEC - you had to buy from them - regardless of price and we had to keep buying from OPEC after the Embargo whether or not we liked it.

This is not true of Russia. Sure it would cause pain if the tap was turned off - would take some time to secure alternate supplies. Would Russia do this however - Germany would find a different supplier and not buy from Russia again. Russia would lose that customer for Good.

As stated previously - this would be insane for Russia to do from a business perspective .. "suicide".

I note your opinion. But I don't really consider it realistic now that Germany and France are pushing for a European Army (HERE).

They should get off their ass and quit talking about it and do it. Since the end of WW2 this has been going on. But please, What if one country wants to go to war and the other doesn't.

Why would the left be against harming the Russian economy since they have placed Russia as the #1 geopolitical threat ?? The OP is a great example of the Schizophrenia resulting from TDS.

They are. But you miss the point about European nations which are becoming a United States of Europe so one of them not going isn't real --- anymore than say Texas refusing to go to an American war.

I don't really know for sure other than the loss of face suffered by Hilary in the election (from which arose the whole Russia phobia). Maybe you should ask them?

But I agree that the left in America seem to me to be gung-ho about harming Russia at every opportunity, if that's what you're saying. This was always the bette noir of the right, so things have reversed 180 degrees. It's interesting, no?

If you'd care to define what TDS means and how that article is schizophrenic in your opinion I'll respond...

No they are not becoming a US of Europe, I think Brexit shows that. I believe there are more fractions in the EU that want to lessen the ties than increase them specially on the scale of spending the kinds of money to supercede the
US in Europe militarily, I would love it if they do again double their dollar commitment to thier own defense and allow the US to not spend the money there. If that Happens and Trump can denuclearize N Korea that will be billions more that the US can spend militarily elsewhere.

Would it just be easier to spell it out? I read the first two lines and I also read the first two para's and still have no idea what you're talking about. Try explaining clearly pls.

A U.S.E. is the aim of the EU as recently reiterated by them - including Merkel.

To the point that this never happens would be, for me, a very good thing. But it's not yet a foregone conclusion. I remain wholly unsure if Brexit will actually happen. All the pressure of the UK and EU political class is for the UK to de facto remain in the EU one way or another and for the Brexit Referendum to be ignored.

Well, it is an opinion of some that russia wants to ensnare europe with its energy scheme. What if russia just wants to sell europe its fossil fuels, given they have lots of it, and it is a major source of income for russia?

It is in russia's national interests, economically, to be a supplier of its fossil fuels. Trying to take that away from russia is a terrible idea. It is economic war being waged on russia and its people. And I am not at all convinced that russia wants to ensnare europe, that is just an opinion. I am not at all sure that russia wants to act like germany of the 1930s either. Russia does not want nuclear war for god's sake, it is only some idiots in DC that seem to want to risk it.

Pointing out irony doesn't work well here. I've tried it multiple times. Anyway, viceroy is a very appropriate title.

If you can not tell from reading spelling it out won’t matter. It’s a waste of time.

Ah, so you actually don't know what you mean. I began to wonder with your curious reference to the first two lines of the OP that bore zero reference to what you were talking about.

    Problem solved at last.

Then why not state it openly and clearly?

    But you won't.
