What you do is not what I am doing.

Please don't compare what Trump wants to do with a wall around a house protected by security guards.

    Go after illegal employers.
    The problem almost solves itself.

Yes, but that means they're already in the US, whereas the idea is to prevent them getting into the US. And even then, what will happen to the illegals if the fine bankrupts the employer? Looks like it's back to the drawing board?

How is a wall on 1 small border going to stop them?
If there is a means to gain employment and provide a living for themselves and their family, they will come.
Over, under, or around the wall. Even smuggled through the wall at checkpoints.
    Just like drugs.

If they are here and can't provide for themselves or family, they go elsewhere to gain employment.

I've offered my solution to that quite a few times . . . tell them that when they arrive they won't be allowed in without a prearranged (in their countries of origin) permit, so there's no point in starting out without one. I guarantee that they won't start out, so problem sorted?

That works for those coming in via the legal process.
But many come for temporary work in crop fields.
Some return to their origin, some do not.

Many coming here are from gov'ts who are abusive to their people, aren't they? Honduras, people flee because of the gov't?

I think everyone does! Shouldn't we have Chuck and Nancy pay for the wall so we can have those other nice things back?

The wall has nothing to do with those jobs.
tRUMP, saying he'd be proud to shut down the gov't, has shut down parts of the gov't.
And yes, it'd be nice if he did reopen the gov't he shut down so we can have those people getting their deserved paychecks.

Extortion isn't the best negotiating policy.

Why isn't your question addressed to the orange orangutan, who while seated in the White House said ,"HE WOULD BE PROUD TO OWN THE SHUTDOWN"???

So you would rather keep the government shut down than have the wall?

6 tunnels dug under the wall yesterday near Yuma Az. 376 illegals crawled under the wall and surrendered to border patrol.WALL IS A WASTE OF MONEY.

I can't do anything about it.
Only the one who is proud it is shut down.

If you say so - I obviously wouldn't know - but of those who arrive with credentials, how many arrive without any? I'd take a guess it's c. 1 - 50.

If one of those abused people claimed sanctuary in the US for that reason, are their claims certified or is it a case of taking their word for it? Reading between the lines of your post I get the impression you're in favour of unlimited immigration.

If you have a perfectly working home defense...why do you need a border wall?

    Brilliant.

    Except for one tiny flaw:

Trumpers are brainwashed cultists who believe anything Trump says and defend him no matter what, and facts be damned! In such a scenario, Trump would simply call any such statistics "fake news" and his followers would believe his word on it. Look at how they blindly accepted his proclamations on how the media "lied" about the popular vote and how the media "lied" about his "very, very big inaugural crowd size--perhaps the biggest in history."

    Here's an option:
Why not let people choose where a small portion of their tax money is going?
They can choose the wall, or have their money go to foreign aide.
There'd be a little check box on all the tax forms.

Just the amount of money that is paid out in agricultural subsidies every year is easily enough to pay for the wall several times over.

Do you always generalize about a large group of people you don't know? What would you call that? Anyone else you'd like to stereotype while you're at it? If you're trying to put on display the mentality that gave us the Democrats' Jim Crow laws and their racial segregation, you've certainly succeeded.

    You as in you personally?

Right because that's exactly what we were talking about, what you personally could do to re-open government. The pertinent question is would you rather keep the government shut down than give in on the wall?

Why can't liberals see that holding back the wall funding is hurting more than helping?

Because it is helping them. They want to import as many future votes as they can. After they get hear they need a "path to citizenship." It is hurting you, not them.
