    Hello,

I'm a relatively young french, 25 YO, with asperger syndrome. I debated and still debate a lot about french politics, but it's becoming boring and I'm seeking for something new.

About my political influences, I'm influenced by two opposed trends : libertarian and communist before they started to rule. I considered myself a longtime as an atheist believer (I mean, even if it seems highly probable for me that god doesn't exist, I can't proved it and I believe their is nothing), after the strikes against gay union in my country and some unacceptable words about gay people , I recounsidered myself as an antitheist : I consider that most religions are a threat to personnal freedom.

I admire a lot communist before they start to govern. You don't need to convince me that most of the communist countries around the world were or are (looking at you North Korea) most despicable regime the earth knew but before that. Communist brought only misery, despite that, the fear of communism may have brought some good for a lot of the lower classes. To avoid communism, a lot of rulers prefered to try to improve the living conditions of poor people rather than having a communist revolution.

ML King and pacifist like him were great people, but I'm a pacifist and I don't believe you will get something by being nice, you're poor : your best chance is still conflict.

My english is rather broken, I studied german rather english at school and for the few hours of courses I got were not really efficient, so my english is mainly self taught.

I will probably be a horror for some conservative members of this forum, I hope however our exchanges will be argumented and constructive.

Welcome. Review the active threads and start posting replies. Read the rules, especially before starting your own new threads. Marx, Engels and Lenin were dedicated to removing the corrupt modern massive bureaucratic state structure. Their ideas about actually accomplishing that task were clearly inadequate to the task. You will probably get along well with the small government conservatives, libertarians and liberals on this forum. Good luck

The situation is really harsh but far to be desesperate.

Most people can't bear anymore the abuses of our politician and in the EU and seek deeply to change.

When the whole europe wanted to punish the king killer people, a revolutionnary leader said : Audacity, more audacity and still audacity and France will be saved.

That's still true (not for the whole europe wanting to punish France).

Welcome Froggie to the forum. I don't like to label myself into any single political philosophy and prefer rather to look at each individual issue in context and reference to time, place, and situation. I value the rule of law provided for within the U.S. Constitution--that is our nation and it has thus far stood the test of time for this form of government better than any of its predecessors. Foremost, however, I value the lessons of the man named Jesus in the Bible who taught love God above all else; and love your neighbor as you love your self.

I'm half buddhist, half atheist. I valued the atheist side a long time but I'm starting to believe in the buddhic law. I'm pretty interested by the cathare heresy. I think that religious movement is a reform of christianism more interesting that even protestantism.

That's pretty normal to leave NATO. French always tried to stay neutral in some conflicts like the cold war, and I think our country should work for peace, nothing else. Furthermore, we have some nukes, so we don't need any help to defend ourselves.

To be atheist in France is rather normal. If during a long time, France was considered as the "eldest daughter of the catholic church", that time ended with revolution.

During the revolution, the revolutionnaries tried during a few years to create a new religion " the cult of the supreme being", cult who totally failed. You can find some traces on some french church "le culte de l'être suprême".
(quick memo : 1789 revolution 1793 execution of the king and first republic 1804, 1815 back of the monarchy 1828 2nd revolution, the french definitively give up the royal white flag for the blue white red one, a cousin of the king proclame himself king 1848 third revolution and creation of the second republic, Louis Napoléon Bonaparte become president 1852 Napoleon is named by referendum emperor, known as Napoleon 3, 1870 defeat of sedan, the emperor surrender but the people revolt and proclame the third republic, 1940 after the defeat, Phillipe Petain take the full power, 1945 liberation of france, proclamation of the 4th republic 1958 the fourth republic unable to deal with the algeria war crisis is gave up for the nowodays fifth republic).

The distance then between the french people and the church became bigger and bigger. The catholic church always supported the noble and the king. The catholic church was more and more percepted as an oppressor rather an ally.

In 1905, a law is voted proclaming laicity. That's really important because it forge the nowodays relation between the french and the religion. The 1905 law proclame "don't taking part for any religion, don't financing them and protecting them the freedom of religion".

All the pedophilia cases didn't helped.

Nowodays, most of the young people are either agnostic or athee. Islam will probably become the first religion of France too because the athees are more often white people than arabic.

However, the first belief will be probably atheism.

I'm athee but not without any belief. I studied the buddhic law (seriously not like some hippies) and believe in it.
