The New York Times and The Intercept first reported the apology, a break from Warren's past reluctance to issue one. But the Times reported Warren privately expressed concern she may have hurt her standing with Native-American groups and her own supporters in her handling of the test.

...Warren rolled out her DNA results just weeks before the 2018 midterm elections. She was criticized for even conducting the test and was accused of succumbing to attacks from President Trump – who has repeatedly called her "Pocahontas" in his campaign-style rallies and on social media.

The DNA results also fueled claims by Republican critics that she used a trace amount of Native American heritage to advance her academic career.

I suspect that damage is already done.

This also suggests Warren has poor instincts, for even getting into this mess in the first place.

And sadly, an apology won't change the fact that she used race for her personal political advancement.

I thought this thread was about Elizbeth Warren. I hope some day they will find a cure for TDS.

Not so sure about that. Her voting base probably never heard of her cultural appropriation lie, don't know what DNA is, and believe the Indians are a baseball team from Cleveland. The only thing that might hurt her is she seemed to have, at least for the moment, put the crown of victimhood on a particular group when so many other groups are competing for it.

Did she apologize to all those people she conned out of a job for being the "first woman of color"?

The funniest thing is she proved she's whiter than most white people.

You would think that giving an apology, only to get votes in an upcoming election campaign isn't really apologizing.

    But thats the left.

Truly a bizarre time in American politics.

Top dems are proving white privilege, by posing as minorities.

    And their voters buy it.

So she apologized for taking a test but not for posing as one of them to enrich herself personally. That's sort of like robbing someones home and selling their stuff on eBay then apologizing for undervaluing the goods.

And she never will because being a Democrat means never assuming the voters have brains.

what's to defend, her parents told he she is part Indian, she looks like she is, so who cares, I would guess there was some affair in the distant past that the family knew about and saw in her - attacking her over it is silly

That woman looks whiter than snow, mate. That is just some good, old family-tale that she took too literally.

Glad she at least had the decency to apologise.

    Did they though?

There was no affair in her past, as she has more white DNA than white people.

    No, she didn't.

She had some central american DNA.

Half of what the average white person has.

She's whiter than most white people.

Do you even know what "part" means and do you even know how DNA-tests work?

I am 100% European and even my DNA-test showed a higher percentage of Amerindian than hers.

Yes that's called an emotional reaction.

It's always trouble, by the way.

Why does that even matter to you? I already told you the answer is in my avatar and in my signature and if you are not interest enough in political philosophy to figure it out or smart enough to do a Google search, I can't help you.
