Why aren't feminists complaining that there aren't enough female garbage collectors

Sorry but given that most of us have very strong life long ties with the members of the other sex there is no such thing as a male or a female issues only.

Selective service laws and abortions rights and domestic violence laws and so on impact members of both sex.

 

One of the best outside machinists I've ever seen was a woman. She could lift an 80 lb. thrust shoe off a pallet onto her shoulder and carry it down ladders deep down into an engine room to reduction gears as good as any man. She was an attractive, burly chunk, and would have been great to have strong children with, but unfortunately for me she had just gotten married.

They said the same bullshit in the 70s and now women are dominating colleges and medical schools and are sitting on the supreme court and getting credit in their own names etc. We ignored you then and we are ignoring you now....Things happened for women despite man like you. I bet you think it’s just a coincidence that teachers and social workers get paid less than then a plumber etc. I guess it’s a coincidence that those professions that pay less were dominated by females.It is getting harder to find good teachers and nurses because now the same bright women are going into what was once a male-dominated professions. Nurses are becoming doctors secretaries are becoming the boss etc

 

Who says they weren’t deserved? Did it bother you when men were getting promotions for hundreds of years that they didn’t have to compete for?

Well, lets see, one is a private company business and one is a government provided job. So lets try and figure this out if you can.

BTW, Nurses have been getting good pay, more than plumbers, for a long time.

 

Are you seriously say cause women weren't in the work place, men weren't "competing" for promotions? Men had to compete against the each other, and since the bar has to be lowered for women to compete against men, the promotions usually were much harder to obtain.

My observations have been that from apprentice to journeyman men and women at the same skill level and performance make the same pay. But you don't see a lot of women who want to climb a mast with 75 lbs. of tools on their back, or bake alive working down in the inner bottom in August.

Things are changing. If you'd seen this Women's Rights section of the forum 11 years ago, it was an absolute and utter cesspool. I was possibly the only woman poster in the Women's Rights section then and the posters/posts were unbelievably vile.

A deranged poster sent me a personal message saying he'd rape me and that I had to immediately bow down to him. ffs. It was a shocker of a place back then 11 years ago. For ****ing sure.

As a feminist I come here to uphold my views and perspective and to pull up ridiculous, derogatory nonsense directed at women.

The particular men you refer to won't change.

You think you're fighting inequality. You're not doing anything.

The only way women ever got equality was because men allowed it. There was never a feminist revolt, there wasn't a war, there wasn't even a stalemate. If there was we went to be talkin about female equality or feminism today.

 

Got to for those who want to make journeyman and get paid journeyman pay. Only engineers, naval architects, purchasing agents who got spurs, and draftsmen make the good white collar pay, other white collars who are just easily replaceable gofers for the smart white collars have to have many years service in and rise to the top in supervision to get decent money.

The worst outcome is a sub-par college grad with low skills having to sit in front of a screen in a cubicle all day for low money wondering why they went to college. It's air conditioned, not a sweatshop, but there's no future in it.

 

Lot's of men getting that good nursing pay now. Always go for the money, the most important thing.

The marches have been entertaining at best, and a bit off target when claiming that women are being subjugated to draconian rule.

I've told you this before, women do have equality.... it's just not been handed to women on some sort of platter just because they have a vagina. I see equality all over the place... female Presidents of banks, Partner attorneys, CPAs, Male underlings, all genders, sexual orientations and nationalitities in all sorts of professional positions, and on down to the local burger flippers.

What YOU seem to want is to subjugate males, not equality. You seem to want dominance, control, to lash out at those who you perceive as having held you back, when it is likely it was your own self with your anger and blaming others for your position.

And the best part of all this is, I am a female. I have no need to piss on other people to make my way to where I want to be.
