Isn't declaring a national emergency the same as declaring martial law?

It is an attempt to do an end run around the U.S.CONSTITUTION which granted the exclusive right to TAX AND SPEND to the CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES!!!Not the president.

What Trump is doing is Constitutional as ruled by the SCOTUS. Attempts by the left to prevent securing the southern border with the objective to protect US citizens will be a political gift to the Trump 2020 campaign.

 

Theres 30 active National Emergencies in effect now, from as far back as the Carter Admin.

One of them, declared by Clinton and maintained by Bush, Obama and Trump, was to reduce illegal immigration from Cuba.

Another, declared by Trump, was to prevent domestic election meddling by foreign interests.
