Isn't declaring a national emergency the same as declaring martial law?

Why are you opposed to protecting the lives of US citizens and border patrol agents ?? The Democrats won’t do it. It’s the President’s job to do so. And it’s an emergency if the legislative branch refuses to do it.

How does acting to eliminate drugs and illegal alien criminals into the country benefit the US ?? People are dying from illegal drugs at a rate equivalent to a Vietnman War every year, people are being killed and assaulted by illegal alien criminals and drunk drivers, and border patrol agents are being attacked and harmed. How is this contrary to good judgment and our country's interests ??
