What if a cop thought your guns were unconstitutional to own. Could he just take them?

You see where I am going with this. As I have mentioned before is allowing voters to pass laws the best idea?

If a state law passed by the voters said my guns were unconstitutional you think the cop should take them?

I actually think it is a great idea. True democracy. The courts will look at this and decide constitutionality. Then we will know

Should measures that make it to the ballot be assessed by the state for constitutionality before the election?

In this true democracy does the majority always rule?

I am fine with that. Either way is fine. In a emergency a injunction can be filed now after it is passed. The system works

Yes in true democracy. But we require laws to meet constitutionality

If the majority is always able to out vote the minority what kind of society do you end up with?

Seems it would be much easier and less costly for everyone if things were worked out before the election.

Laws that are not upheld will not be enforced no matter what the majority wants

Let me reword that. Obviously the majority will always out vote the minority. What I am trying to say is, does a society that uses this true democracy lose minority rights?

They can, and do. More than one police officer, and more than one soldier, has refused to follow an edict or order they find at odds with their own principles and beliefs.

    Only sheep blindly follow orders.

Great. And pay the price for doing so.

And doing something that is unconstitutional or illegal and then falling back on the "I was just following orders" excuse has landed many of both in prison.

Only if it does not have a constitution to protect the rights of a minority

"True democracy" is nothing more than mob rule with pretensions.

Why are you afraid of the will of the people? Everything has to be ruled constitutional if challenged

Most people are ignorant, cowardly, self-serving sheep. Democracy is a fatally-flawed form of government... as the Founders themselves stated clearly:

"Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide." - John Adams

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!" - Benjamin Franklin

"Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths." - James Madison

There are those that hate freedom. They hate the will of the people . They want to control the people and they want to decide what is best for the people. But these tyrants never win in the end. Democracy is messy slow and inefficient . But only those governed by the will of the people have any real freedom.

Democracy is the worst form of government.....except all the others---Winston Churchill
