Oh and for generations daddy could get you in, like Donnie. The best SAT scores might not get you in but if you have something else that makes you a well rounded individual it is considered. SA T scores alone should not be the criterion. The reason I say that is my daughter took the SAT and did pretty well and then we gave her a course and she went up 125 points. Kids who scored 100 points less were no more deserving than she. Being Cuban brings diversity, being a dancer brings diversity, working in a soup kitchen speaks of character etc

depends where the interview was and how rich a family the girls came from....

look at trump, below average and has had 3 trophy wives

poor Trump would of been different, woudl any of those women have even gone on a date with him, let alone married the man?

yeah it's true, colleges did discriminate though they would never admit it denying it is silly I lived in that era discrimination against women, gays people of color was still openly discussed...it was very difficult for women to break into what were considered "male occupations" like medicine, engineering or sciences...if there was an interview process for applicants it was an easy matter to screen out those they didn't want as "unsuitable" regardless of academic scores...

Years ago I remember my older brother had to enclose a photo with his med school application. Wonder why?

Almost all of those admitted to the Ivies now have carefully crafted a pubic persona for the specific purpose of gaining admission. Admissions has become a very artful phony process. Many of the employers I know have learned the hard way to avoid hiring new Ivy grads.

Yeah, they don’t want Harvard grads..they rather have trump U grads
You act as though admission means you are just going to sail through the most prestigious universities in the world

In fact, unlike the rest of the ivies, Harvard is notoriously easy to skate through to a BA. It is hard to get kicked out of Harvard as opposed to Cornell.

But that is not the problem with the Ivy grads. Almost all of them had to put on an artful phony show to get in. Why would any one in the private sector want to hire a clever phony?

Bull! Yeah Harvard is so simple to skate through....sure. Maybe they don’t throw out as many students because only the most qualified get in sounds to me like sour grapes

I do! Do you wonder why they are in such demand and get paid so well?after all, they don’t work half as hard as the kids at Trump U. I guess the most brilliant people from all over the world want to go to Harvard because they heard it so easy

You should have read my posts more carefully. A Harvard BS, JD, MD, MBA can be very valuable for the student and the productive sector.

Those with a BA are usually rather useless, but relatively harmless if they limit themselves to teaching.

Any student who enrolls at any decent university will get as good an education as he or she is willing to work for. The greatest value of an ivy is just the name on the paper, which is a very real value but not indicative of a better education.

You don’t even know what the word suffragette means. LOL but my generation did suffer. We couldn’t get high paying jobs, we couldn’t get credit in our own names, husband could rape wives, domestic violence was ignored, we had to breed against our will. I can go on

I want to why they have such a good reputations. Why do they have such value? Could it be because they only accept the brightest applicants?

    You have a vivid imagination.

I hope you’re very young. Because you have no comprehension of history and the women’s movement and the discrimination that was i Institutionalized sexism. Women could have the highest skills but they still couldn’t get a loan. Women could have the highest skills but jobs in certain fields were close pd to them. Women could have the highest skills and couldn’t get credit if they were married. Woman could have the highest skills but couldn’t get into the best networking universities. Nothing like blaming the victims of discrimination. I don’t have a vivid imagination I lived it

Yanno, it isn't 1920 anymore. What is the excuse these days?

Well obviously you don’t know your history because this wasn’t 1920 it was 1970s and it takes several generations for any change in discrimination to kick in.
Women don’t need excuses.....young women are rising to the top.
And example is that we take things for granted. Just one generation ago we didn’t see women as newscasters know it’s taken for granted.College professors were men as well as doctors and lawyers. And we are beginning to see more men staying home with children

Women have had equal opportunity for several decades now and have not accomplished much. How about they stop whining and get on the stick.
