... What can I say? I'm in the UK, have no citizenship except British so, I'm trapped here, taxed here. Living in the London area so I feel The MET Police detached here, politicians are people too, that's all I can say, and sometimes, some offices aren't prone to this human error, that's how I feel when I'm not reminded of all this history and the empire. This evil racist empire in a way, right, so, damn. How do you feel about your country? Does your country ever get you down?
I look at my country more as I would my own child. There are times when you want it to do better, make better decisions - but you always love it.
That's pretty good still, but, IDK.... My country used to be the police of the world, and now we still police, but, it's sometimes and the world can be a whole lot more crappier. So... IDK. Wish it could do better is an understatement, but in all that policing, this country did some pretty shitty things and mindsets like brainwashing the world or trying to. I see the old television masts in Crystal Palace, and I'm reminded of brainwashing and wire tapping.
Yes, I'm falling (a tiny amt.) out of luv w/ my country every time I'm confronted with the duplicitousness of liberalism & RINO obfuscation. I die a little bit inside when I realize how the long term effects of short term placation are undermining the most vulnerable. I become more disenchanted with my citizenship when I realize how terms such as "minority", "protected class" are just oft utilized speaking points and sharp objects in the 'NARRATIVE' of radicalization and nationalistic usurpation.
It is fortunate that the MSM narrative is no longer trusted by Americans. Virtually no one still trusts our corrupt bipartisan political class or its Fake News MSM.
I love my country ...until I must venture into urbania. I can't reason out why so many people would cluster together like that, living on top of eachother and getting in eachothers way. Its craziness and it kills my soul. Fortunately I get over it as soon as I get back to the forest and farmland where I live.
Exactly right. Which is why I am always ready to backup what I post. “There is no incongruity in the fact that a new poll conducted by the Media Insight Project, a joint project of the American Press Institute and the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, finds the American media’s popularity way down with that of Washington politicians. With 2,014 adults surveyed, only 6% expressed “a lot of confidence” in the press.” “The Media Insight poll found that close to 90% of Americans consider it extremely important or very important that journalists get their facts right. As in RatherGate and so many other cases, the media not only gets the facts wrong but also uses them as political weapons.” INVESTORS BUSINESS DAILY, Only 6% Trust the Media, But It Should Be Less, Editorial, 4/19/16. http://www.investors.com/politics/editorials/only-6-trust-media-but-it-should-be-less/
Why is London an evil racist empire? You are never trapped. You have the keys to escape to anywhere but you just don't realize it. Yes, my country gets me down. The things I have done for God and country. You can only imagine.
if you want to appreciate your country, leave it for a while. If you still don’t appreciate it when you get back leave for good.
I agree with this completely. Some of my favorite places in the world are the same places I would never want to live in. Yet I visit them when I can. Some places I could hunker down for years and spend time immersed in their society. If you never leave your yard, you have no idea what is down the road.
When governments are dictated to by lobbyists, mining companies and banks....is it possible to separate the corrupt hydra that controls us and our governments from country? Can you love the one but hate the other?
