Probably pprayed by some flat-chested amazon warrior with stringy unwashed hair and coke bottle glasses who has never been kissed by a man

It isn’t quite as straight forwards and that partial quote is apparently trying to make out. She clearly never wanted to make a big thing out of this aspect but she also clearly never consented to the kiss and so his actions definitely fall under the legal definition of sexual assault regardless of anyone’s personal opinion. The whole point is that you’ve no idea whether someone would mind or not before the act. As I said, it was hardly a major offence and it isn’t the right time to make an issue of it but nor should it just be dismissed out of hand.

You don't know who vandalized this statue, so stop pretending you know their political leanings.

I condemn this action without question. It's a memorable moment in US history and worthy of a vandalism-free statue...

P.S. I THINK I remember this statue, as my wife and I vacationed in Sarasota many moons ago... Nice area for reasonably priced golf.

The PC American Taliban strikes again in America.

Another American war memorial attacked by the political left.

It all started by the cultural-marxist revisionist and a battle flag.

It's a slippery slope and I wonder what is next ?

But not back in 1945 when America was the greatest.

It's not the political left judging the past to today's standards but are actually rewriting history to further their radical leftist political agenda.

It's political correctness revisionist history, it's what the Taliban has been doing.

When a measureable percentage of the population is BATSHIT CRAZY enough to do something like this, for the "reasons" they do it, then we ALL need to be concerned for our personal safety. I'm NOT kidding. Anybody who's gone 'this far over the edge' is mentally unstable and a very real, very present menace to society.... How did we in the United States ever get to be this insanely f*cked up...?

When the left adopted political correctness.

At first we laughed at the loony left and political correctness aka cultural-marxism.

But political correctness is deadly serious and deadly.

A can of spray paint is not at issue... but the diseased MIND of someone who would make THAT kind of "statement" is dangerous. I sure as hell wouldn't want to have anything to do with anyone who would make that kind of America-hating statement.

LOL so now some graffiti is equivalent to burning a cross to terrorize black people with several black people being hung from a tree. Oh, let's add "American hating " too just for effect. Can you be anymore melodramatic!

Heres an issue that can unite both sides. I don't think anyone condones this vandalism. There is one in San Diego next to the USS Midway.

Vandalism is wrong, 100% of the time.

But so is thinking women are objects of pleasure. Not as the statue commemorates, because it doesn't.
But because of 90% of the posts, posting as if any man has a right to do as the statue shows.

Some even post girls in tight skimpy clothes for their viewing pleasure to show how they demean women as merely objects to enjoy.

Vandalism is so cowardly. The sculpture is iconic as it was, not really fine art. Never the less what it represents is monumental. Metoo is a fad like Hula Hoops.

Then again men are so terrified of making advances these days I think most will die virgins, I mean no one would ever dare to start an office romance these days.

You need to read some of the links in the thread. She didn’t consent, he just grabbed her and forcibly kissed her. She didn’t make a big thing of it at the time or when discussing it later (though complaining probably wouldn’t have made any difference and could well have had negative impact on her). None of that changes the fundamental fact that it wasn’t consensual.

In this instance, the statue is easily restored, and some might argue that culprit should pay all reasonable costs to do so.

Statues depicting sexual assault as glamorous, patriotic & so forth?

    Problematic.

It was not a vandal, most likely an enlightened liberal arts student from one of our prized universities.

I don't view that statue as any sort of assault. But as a joyful, loveful moment.

You know werent she didn't make a big deal of it... (nor his girlfriend at the time)? Because this world wasn't inhabited by a bunch of snowflakes constantly looking for something to trigger them. That's why.
