Whatever good Trump might have done is in the toilet. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/trump-approval-ratings/ https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_trump_job_approval-6179.html All the Democrats have to do is nominate a Joe Biden or Amy Klobuchar and the Orange Oaf will be dead meat.
Uh huh. That's why half of illegals overstayed a visa. You're assuming the wall will stop them. Instead of a wall, we need a national ID modeled on the Nexus Pass that can be used to make sure employers only hire people entitled to work here, and that includes domestics and day labor. Anyone who hires an illegal gets fined, and lots of illegals get jail time. We can use physical barriers and other means as required, but the ID card is key. The ID can replaced the Social Security card. American workers shouldn't have to compete against illegal immigrants for jobs. I don't care if illegals have low crime rates (they do). Family reunification for legal immigrants? Yes--spouses and minor children as long as they don't have criminal records. Illegals here now? I'm inclined toward generosity providing we get the national ID and smart border barriers that no doubt include wall-like structures in some areas. Trump shouldn't get a dime until he puts forward a comprehensive border barrier plan. Then we should fund it if it makes sense. I'd like too see a comprehensive solution because the various parts of a complete program interact. Do the above, then you'll really win.
1. The visa screening process weeds out 95% of applicants who intend to overstay, 5% do slip through. Open borders let 100% slip through. Do you see the difference between 5% and 100%? 2. Thank you for your theories.... we waited for 8 years of GWB and all we heard was amnesty. We lived through 8 years of Obama, they discussed nothing but amnesty... At this point of time i will settle for imperfect wall, instead of waiting indefinitely for a theoretically perfect solution that will never materialize. Let's cut illegal immigration in half with the wall, we'll push for your ideas later.
Of course they do. That's why they turned the whole state into a welcome mat. Stop trying to deny it.
Now that Trump is threatening to take speed rail $ to pay for wall the level of animosity\ antipathy for the GOP is worse than I can ever recall in California. Nunez ( 1 of only 7 Republicans out of 53 congressional seats) involvement with Trump has marked him for the next purge of Republicans. It is quite conceivable that there won't be any Republicans left in office after the next election in California. That has to be a sobering thought that the GOP must consider unless they denounce\ condemn the 'yellow-hair criminal traitor.
Not if they support the radical left agenda including Medicare for all and grounding all planes by 2031.
I see an unsupported claim. I see a lot of illegals. I see Trump firing illegals he's been hiring. I see a lot of BS about a wall without a comprehensive plan to end illegals coming to and working in this country. Hell, we had eight years of Slick Willie and me being greeted by Spanish speaking clerks in downtown Napa, CA. I remember growing up in Southern California and hearing all about Braceros. How far do you want to go back to business owners using cheap illegal labor and pols (wink, wink) in both parties saying they wanted to solve the problem? Yeah, well--I've heard enough BS to last a lifetime. I'm not prepared to be shot through the grease by the Orange Oaf who has been hiring illegals himself, nor am I prepared to go along with pols who want to put few if any limits on us taking in refugees. I stand by my comment above.
GASLIGHTING ALERT! They have taken a consistent position of making the federal government enforce federal immigration laws. Now, I happen to think they're irresponsible in not taking a position on the overall problem, but the fact is they have not been advocating open borders.
If they're stupid enough to nominate Warren or Sanders (I think Booker, Castro, or Gillibrand would be marginal), they could lose. If they nominate a moderate like Joe Biden or Amy Klobuchar, Trump is likely to go down for the count.
Winning at the real goal that seems to be responsible for much of Trump's support: Trolling non-Trump supporters, which seems to include a pretty good swath of folks from both the right and the left.
It's not winning in my books, and more important I don't think it will meet with approval by most Americans.
The guy is a national security threat, and a nasty one at that, the way he carries on and the way people actually buy into what he says. He constantly does worse than yell "fire" in a crowded venue.
I'll take that bet. Hillary isn't ready for the attack she'd get from less than adoring fellow Democrats. P.S. I win either way... if she doesn't get in, I'm right; if I'm wrong, I get to see the fur fly. My prediction--if she gets in, a female candidate low in the polls will be the first to put a huge hit on her useless ass.
It's a deliberate attempt to misrepresent their position (one I don't support). If my post is removed for pointing out the truth, so be it.
Total BS. An "open border" is what they have in Europe between countries like France and Germany. The sanctuary state business is simply not having state police or other state officials enforce federal law. I haven't heard more than a few eightballs suggest we should tear down the border checkpoints.
Who said anything about tearing down checkpoints, other than Beto. When you welcome illegal aliens with open arms, reward their illegal presence in your state, protect them from the law, etc., etc., don't even pretend that isn't an open borders policy. Foolish argument you're failing to sell.
If you don't remove the checkpoints, you don't have an "open border." Think of another way to express your concern and opposition than making up stuff. Here is what I proposed in an earlier post: Instead of a wall, we need a national ID modeled on the Nexus Pass that can be used to make sure employers only hire people entitled to work here, and that includes domestics and day labor. Anyone who hires an illegal gets fined, and lots of illegals get jail time. We can use physical barriers and other means as required, but the ID card is key. Trump shouldn't get a dime until he puts forward a comprehensive border barrier plan. Then we should fund it if it makes sense. I'd like too see a comprehensive solution because the various parts of a complete program interact. You can see what I'm "selling." What I'm not pushing is misinformation.
No I do not. There is no wall . . . . --no "win". The funding is insufficient and won't become sufficient. When do you learn he's a liar and a crook?
