They would seek leniency to the judge and then the parole board

So your position is that he is only lying about things that cant be corroborated or proven false? But that he has an incentive to lie because those lies (again, which can't be proven or corroborated) might result in leniency?

Cohen just testified that Trump ran as a "marketing ploy" and didn't intend to win.

That just repudiated the "russian collusion" and "pay off to affect the election" he also just testified to.

Clearly, he just told another lie.

    Republicans asking Cohen questions:

The Southern District of New York reported...

On this document you signed, you wrote...yet you were quoted moments ago saying...(contradictory statement)

This document states that you were....

    Democrats asking Cohen questions:

    In your opinion...

    Do you think that.....

Why do you feel that President Trump...

How would you like to prove that the money was spent on behalf of him personally and not with the intent of benefiting the campaign?

Because I can note the timing of the payment in relation to the campaign and the fact that Cohen has already plead guilty to felony violation specifically because the money was spent with the intent of benefiting the campaign.

If you have to say "clearly," then your argument is probably not very clear.

cohen is like Judas, he betrayed President Trump.

will he be forgiven because he confessed his sins to the catholic priest, or repented to the protestants

does he still have a personal relationship with our Saviour

    LMAO

The trumpettes here falling over themselves to defend Dirty Donnie by hysterically attacking Cohen are uproariously funny and pathetic at the same time.

On a couple of asides, why DIDN'T the previous House oversight committee under the Republican majority want hear from Flynn, Manafort and the other convicted felons from Dirty Donnie's campaign and cabinet ? Why haven't any of the current Republicans asked any questions about Trump and what Cohen did for Trump ?

Clearly because they don't want to know.

Cohen's contention ... sorta. Trump certainly directed Cohen to arrange a settlement with Daniels ... though I imagine Trump, like everyone else, assumes his ATTORNEY will enter into a LEGAL agreement with the other party ... you know because he's the one with the LAW DEGREE.

On what grounds? They do not grant leniency because he testified about negative facts towards an individual that is irrelevant to the charge.

If Cohen presented testimony that would be used to successfully create new criminal charges, then he can obtain leniency. That's it.

Glenn Grothman: “Do you expect, anytime, using this testimony, other testimony, after you get done doing whatever you are going to do this week. Do you ever expect to go back and ask for any sort of reduction in testimony?”

    Michael Cohen: “Yes”

And how does lying result in a reduction of sentence?

Trump supporters don't want to believe him, but he comes across as forthright to me. He has everything to lose by lying now.

He explained. His assistance to SDNY could be the basis for an application for a reduction of sentence, but this testimony will not. He has no incentive to lie, and every reason NOT to lie.

Asked by whom ... and what payments specifically? Payment of Cohen's invoices, or payment for an NDA Trump was also legally bound not to disclose? Like it matters. :;):

It would have to solely and singularly be for the campaign. He has paid hush money before and again ITS HIS OWN MONEY. If he buys a new suit with his own money so he will look good in the debate and that would benefit the campaign he doesn have to report it as a campaign expense because he buys cloths anyway and will wear it for other things.
