I'm trying to see how Scotty's idea would work mathematically - but failing. Is he proposing the building of a second parliament house just for women so the numbers can become even? Because otherwise in any fixed system comprised of 2 elements - if the proportion of Y increases X has to decrease.

 

You should take a wider view on that phrase. I suppose I'm more sensitive to his point because of what happened in South Africa, Affirmative Action on steroids destroyed the country. To correct a wrong came at the expense of white people... which is fine, but they went too far... now they're just discriminating against whites and the country is sliding into the abyss. If they had limits the country may have been saved.

I think there are enough voices pushing minority, women's, gays, transgender etc rights... I also think it's important that we place limits on the internet lynch mob. You do not have the right to drive another into the ground so you can have what you perceive is owed to you.

My husband and son are white men... I don't want to see them broken down, ridiculed and blamed because of a culture they were born into.

 

Two points...
Research has shown that at the moment, white males are the most discriminated group on the planet.

I have no qualms about women being promoted into political portfolios if they have the capabilities
for doing the job....not just because of the incessant demands for women to be given portfolios just because more women are needed...

hit with the whip...couldnt be much more than a length..makes a difference I suppose..
The Aquanita inquiry last year uncovered a huge amount of milkshaking by another trainer...
There will always be dishonest trainers who think they can get away with bending the rules...
Having said that, I think that horse racing in Australia has been cleaned up quite considerably in recent times, to the extent its probably ranking very highly in the world due to our stringent regulations.
Yank horses for example are doped to the eyeballs all the time..
The UK jumps races over 4 miles or whatever are just plain bloody cruel.....
