I spent a lifetime in construction, I can personally confirm women were openly discriminated against...many times I heard supervisors openly talking about "we don't hire women" "never hire a women" "they don't belong on the job site"

finally 50 yrs after I entered the construction industry you can find women in the trades, I have a niece who is a plumber

 

Imagine being so extremist that one thinks that

I have no problem with women in construction, but if she is getting the same pay as me, I want to see her dig a hole the same size as mine.

that doesn't work either...as a man I turned out work at a rate three times a number of my co-workers(men) produced in a day, they were paid the same as I was...there's no way you can get around that, some people work harder and produce more than others...eventually times changed old bosses were replaced by younger and more enlightened bosses and did I find myself working alongside women, their work was good and they produced as much as my male co-workers...I doubt construction will ever have as many women as men but those I worked with were full value for their work...
