Overall food stamp participation had consistently declined since 2013, when the Obama administration was in power and enrollment in the program reached its highest levels in American history.

After 2013, SNAP enrollment plummeted once state legislatures passed laws requiring food stamp recipients to work, attend school, volunteer, or participate in job training for a set number of hours per week to receive benefits.

Food stamp enrollment dropped even further under President Trump’s administration partly because of the administration’s efforts to reform welfare programs like SNAP at federal and state levels of government and an improving economy spurred by Trump’s tax reform package.

MAGA is made in such ways.

More Americans working, higher real wages, and less people dependent on govt handouts.

Interesting how many people dropped off welfare when they required people to work or volunteer.

    Thank you President Trump!

I fully support the work/volunteer/etc requirements for welfare. Trump is trying to crack down on that even more. Of course the usual suspects are raising holy hell about how cruel it is :blahblah:

This is what happens when you get the Dems out of power. People find work, dependency on govt is not the standard. This is great news! Great for America, and great for the men and women who needed a leg up

Another one of your BS threads:

Care to point out where on the curve Trump took over? Looks like the trend is continuing from the years before Trump, as are unemployment trends etc.

Second, there is ZERO evidence that this trend has anything to do with Trump's tax cut.

The first line in the OP addresses when the curve started trending down:

"Overall food stamp participation had consistently declined since 2013, when the Obama administration was in power..."

This also begs the question-why do democrat policies lead to more dependence on govt, and how is that a good thing?

In the Mormon Church, we have our own welfare program. But if you obtain welfare, the church has always expected those receiving to perform a task the church needs or members need. We fly below the radar but even our missionaries perform community service. We man or stock food banks for instance. We have long been taught the purpose of the work done by recipients is for them to keep their dignity.

If anybody says anything positive at all about Donald Trump they have to be argued against. Even if the things Donald Trump has done has led to prosperity and positive outcomes.

Don't you know the unemployment rate dropping this is because people have two jobs?

No no no Obama is the messiah. Trump is the devil.

anything good that happens during Donald Trump's presidency was all preordained by Obama the messiah.

Trump can do nothing good because he is the devil.

Dependency is the best way to keep their base on the plantation.

People coming off assistance scares the hell out of the left. When people are being taxed for handouts instead of receiving them, they tend become more conservative.

but as you well know, the economic trend has been the exact same since 2010. No economic metrics are any different under trump.

They don't. Republican incompetence does. The republican caused recession of 2008 was the worst on record going back 80 years. That tends to be expensive to fix, and people suffered greatly due to that incompetence. Thankfully, we had democrats in congress and the white house to implement policies to get us out of that recession. The unfortunate side effect of massive unemployment, is people need government assistance during that time.

Of course. It's gone down since 2013. So why on earth would you try and give credit to trump for something that has remained at a steady declining rate for the past 6 years?
