And I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed in college? I'm saying they should get into college based on merit and MERIT ALONE. If a white person has better scores than a black person, he should get in. If the black guy has better scores than the white guy he should get in ahead of him. If a black guy has better scores than an Asian then the black guy should get in, in front.

What we should not do is be spending taxpayer funds attempting to artificially inflate their scores and using laws like affirmative action to give them more of an opportunity to get into school. We should not use, as the link I'm about to respond to puts it, "Race, ethnicity, religion and sex ... in a holistic approach to consider what candidates would be a good fit for the school". Entry should be determined based upon merit and merit alone.

And I've never claimed culture problems aren't part of the issue. Of course they are. But to ignore genetic issues is simply willful ignorance in the name of political correctness.

 

I'd like to see your source on all of those statistics. Whites make up the majority of those groups because they make up 60-65% of the total population. However, they're not grossly overrepresented in violent crime except in the category of child molestation.

In literally every category you mentioned (except domestic terror attacks I'm not sure of... but I AM sure that the amount of deaths caused by those types of attacks is so low as to be insignificant in the aggregate) blacks are grossly disproportionate in their representation.

 

Key 1: Of course affirmative action doesn't just help black people. It helps everybody EXCEPT straight, white, Christian males. Therefore not only is affirmative action racist, but it's also sexist and discriminates based upon sexual orientation and religion.

Key 2: Complete and utter nonsense. White women make up approximately 30-33% of our total population while making up approximately 40% of the total beneficiaries of affirmative action. So while they're slightly overrepresented they're not grossly overrepresented. Whereas blacks make up 12% of our total population and yet they make up close to 35% of the beneficiaries of affirmative action. Making them disproportionately represented by a factor of almost 3x.

Moreover, I'd like to point out the absurd irony of the statement they make in Key 2 after what they said in Key 1. In Key 1 they assert that affirmative action isn't based upon race. Then in Key 2 they state "Race, ethnicity, religion and sex are used in a holistic approach to consider what candidates would be a good fit for the school. " Exactly what the heck do they think that means?

Key 3: See Key 1. Not only is affirmative action racist, it's also sexist. Both of which are unconstitutional.

Key 4: Another blatant lie. https://nces.ed.gov/programs/coe/pdf/coe_cpb.pdf Blacks are NOT underrepresented in college. Blacks are GROSSLY overrepresented. In 2016 whites made up 41% of the total accepted to college, while making up more than 60% of the total population. Blacks made up 36% of the total accepted to college, while making up only 12% of the total population.

So given that blacks are overrepresented THREE TIMES the rate they should be in college and whites are Underrepresented ... don't you think we should be giving the WHITE kids an advantage and not the black ones? Or how about a better idea. We just stop giving anyone an advantage and let them get in on their merit and see where the statistics shake out then.

That’s where the prejudice is ..you are making an assumption that blacks and women who are given extra attention for diversity somehow aren’t deserving. Did you think the white males who didn’t have to compete with more than half the population and many who were much more qualified than they were, were not deserving? I’d like to give the example of my daughter. She took the SAT in her junior year and because I was able to afford a tutor her score went up 150 points next time she took it. Does that mean she’s smarter? Sometimes there are a lot of other things to take into consideration and one is diversity and what it can bring to a university
