Diversity is the new buzzword for liberals. What it really means is a lowering of standards in order to allow people who wouldnt otherwise qualify to obtain positions for employment and education. The only way America can stay at the top is to have top people filling these positions. Diversity for it's own sake may help certain individuals at the expense of others who are more qualified but in the end it drags the entire country down. Do you want your surgeon to be the most qualified or do you want diversity?

Does America have a gun violence problem? Clearly. Is that problem caused by Americans with guns? Obviously.

Why do you need to fixate on race, rather than gender, age, economic class?

Do poor, young males use firearms in crimes more than those fitting other demographic profiles?

    Of course.

    Is this a serious question?

Because if you have 100 people and 90 of them are white and 10 of them are black. And 100% of the violent crime is committed by the black portion, dont you think that’s pertinent to know before you impugne the ENTIRE group?

And yes poor young males do compared to other demographics. But if you remove poor black males the number goes from statistically significant to insignificant.

Please provide a link to your study that shows that your young, poor, white males are "insignificant" in the commission of crimes involving firearms.

As a matter of demographics, do you believe that a college-educated, affluent Black American is more likely to commit a crime using a firearm than is a less-educated, poor White American?

    http://mattbruenig.com/2015/08/14/class-and-race/

As a timely matter, please list the mass killings motivated by prejudice in schools, places of worship, and other public venues by your "racial" metric?

One race pointing a finger at another evades the problem. It does not solve it.

Yes, we agree that policy addressing said discrimination should continue.

I would like to see it end, but threads like this one are exactly the reason it has to continue. System discrimination and some whites still think skin color is a reason to discriminate because they seem to think skin color makes them stupider.

So, rich to you, is someone who has secured a loan of hundreds of thousands of $$$$ and is now in debt, said 100s of thousands of $$$$?

Got some stats to back up that claim?

    Define poor people.
I would not classify most small business owners as rich. Lets say in the top 5%.

American Business is Overwhelmingly Small Business
According to data from the Census Bureau’s Annual Survey of Entrepreneurs, there were 5.6 million employer firms in the United States in 2016.

    ● Firms with fewer than 500 workers accounted for 99.7 percent of those businesses.

    ● Firms with fewer than 100 workers accounted for 98.2 percent.

    ● Firms with fewer than 20 workers made up 89.0 percent.
    ...
    ...
    Survival Rate for Small Businesses
According to the SBA’s Office of Advocacy:

“About half of all establishments survive five years or longer… About one-third of establishments survive 10 years or longer.”

The survival rate for new businesses in their first year has improved recently. According to the SBA Office of Advocacy, 79.9% of establishments started in 2014 survived until 2015, the highest share since 2005.

Wait a second. Why should we have a policy fixing discrimination against people the vast majority of whom are dead? I mean it didn’t affect us, so why should we care enough to keep in place policy fixing that?

Moreover if you think it’s acceptable to enact those EXACT same types of policies against white people today, clearly there was nothing wrong with enacting them against black people in the first place. Right?

If there is then explain why.

What are you blocked from because he wore a white male? How are you being punished? What you were angry about is having to share the pie

First of all segregation existed and many people are still alive who remember it. Black people were told that they were inferior human beings and it takes several generations to make that internalization void. When you have to sit on the back of the bus tell us about it. When you were denied admission to the top colleges because you are a male, tell us about it. When you don’t see men in power because they are denied it. tell us about it. Sounds to me like you have victim envy

I don’t mind sharing the pie as long as it’s earned.

I DO mind sharing the pie when *I* earned it and you want to give it to someone else who didn’t.

And again, you have no problem enacting discriminatory policies against white peoples TODAY. Tell me why I should care about discrimination against blacks that occurred years ago when you don’t care about discrimination that happens to me today?

I have yet to see you answer what discrimination you or other white people are facing today. What policies are you talking about?

I’ve stated them ad nauseam. Here they are again.

We provide government grants and loans to minority... excuse me, non-white farmers that I can’t get access to because the color of my skin is white.

The SBA through program 8a provides grants, loans and contracts to minorit... non-white small business owners that I can’t get access to (or have to jump through a bunch of hoops) because the color of my skin is white.

The government provides tax credits to businesses that hire minor.. non-white contractors that I don’t provide because my skin is white. Making it far less likely for me to get that contract.

We haven’t even begun to talk about the DOZENS of state and city level programs that benefit non-whites while excluding whites. Such as NYC setting aside $3B for minority businesses that I can’t get access to because I’m white.

post the law or regulation that supports this.
what law prevents you from obtaining a small business loan?
post the law or statute that does this.
Show me the law that does this.

    1) https://www.usda.gov/media/press-re...grants-help-veterans-and-minority-farmers-get

    2) That’s not the point. EVERYBODY has access to the loans your referring to. Only minorities, meaning non-whites in the context of this convo, have access to the grants, loans and contracts I’m referring to without jumping through a bunch of extra hoops.

Actually, America has a Democrat problem.

Because the places with the highest rates of gun violence in America are ALL controlled by Democrats: New Orleans, Detroit, Chicago, Washington DC, etc.

The reason for this is obvious and simple: Democrat politics promote poverty, ignorance, and weakness, which leads to criminality.

Blaming it on "black" people, who are the victims of Democrat politics, is both wrong and counterproductive.

Even if that were true, it doesn't change the fact that most gun deaths occur in cities controlled by Democrats.

Democrats are miserable failures at everything. Their policies promote inequality, poverty, criminality, ignorance, and corruption.

Just look at their crumbling, decadent cities full of crime and dysfunction.

    It is true.

Chicago, New Orleans, Washington DC, Detroit, all overflowing with crime, poverty and corruption, and all controlled by Democrats.

Trying to blame that on Republicans is just desperate and lame.
