I don't believe ISIS is trying to convert you or anyone else.

And, if they ARE trying to convert people, they have done an outstandingly horrible job of it ever since they were born in the post-war period of the US conquest of Iraq.

Let's remember that those who are fighting ISIS are Muslims. And, if ISIS can't convince Muslims, that's pretty much the end of that - wouldn't you say?

They certainly have been attempting to convert Yazidis.

That isn't what I was responding to, it was forcing people to change beliefs through physical violence, which is almost exclusively done by Muslims and communists these days.

And there were Germans who opposed Hitler, does that mean he wasn't a threat?

ISIS brutally ruled everyone, whether or not they were convinced. Thank goodness Trump defeated them, I heard the last stronghold fell today.

Please cite evidence of ME terrorists attempting to convert anyone.
?? Let me warn you against using Hitler as the basis for ANY argument.
Yes - they ruled everyone, whether or not they were convinced.

ISIS is defeated only to the extent that it controls little territory. But, numerous terrorist groups exist without controlling territory. ISIS existed before it owned territory.

That was stupid of Wiki to call it political, do you think it a coincidence they were all Christians? Apparently Wiki didn't read the ISIS quote later in their own post:

"Oh people, recently you've seen us on the hills of Al-Sham [Greater Syria] and on Dabiq's Plain, chopping off the heads that had been carrying the cross delusion for a long time, filled with spite against Islam and Muslims, and today we… are sending another message: Oh crusaders, safety for you will be only wishes especially when you're fighting us all together, therefore we will fight you all together until the war lays down its burdens and Jesus peace be upon him will descend, breaking the cross, killing the swine."

"The Obama administration was criticized for referring to the victims simply as Egyptian citizens rather than Christians, the express reason for their murder."

Funny how in every country where Muslims are a minority, they are obsessed with minority rights. In countries where Muslims are a majority, there are no minority rights.

Denying that the religious right (at least a whole lot of them) are anti abortion on the basis of religious belief is akin to denial that water is wet. Surely you can do better. The phrase "lying for Jesus" in an effort to deny the obvious comes to mind.

You had no trouble figuring out that Law=physical violence when it came to Islam. Now that we are talking about Christianity your brain suddenly stalls out ? Is that what you think would make Jesus proud ? Do you not think God gave you a brain for a reason ?

Of course a zygote is human - have you yet to learn the difference between the descriptive adjective use of the word "human" (human heart, human cell) and the noun (a human, a living human) ? - or are you just faking it again ?

This is not morality 101. That you can't back up your claim "its a human" is not required for moral belief. You want to have a moral belief - that is fine. When you want to force that believe on another human through physical violence - that is a completely different standard.

If you can't back up your claim - and you still want to force your belief on others through physical violence - you are no better than the Islamists. Same illogical garbage - different banner.

It is people like this that give Christianity and the teachings of Jesus a bad name - teachings that are obviously beyond your comprehension.

It is not up to me to make your argument for you. I am not the one wanting to make law = use physical violence to force a woman to carry an unintended pregnancy to term.

So give me this non religious argument you claim to have - claim not only for yourself but for the entire religious right. Prove that a single human cell = a human.

If you can't do this - you are no better than the Islamist's.

murdering innocents is evil and theres no difference between a Muslim that does it and a Christian that does it.

The only difference is that when Muslims murder, they are often doing it in obedience to their religious doctrine, whereas Christians can only murder in defiance of their religious doctrine.

Note that I specified Christian doctrine, not Biblical doctrine. The Old Testament is not much different in its barbarism than Islam. But the Old Testament is not Christianity.

    Supposedly, God doesn't change.
So, if god changed for christianity, then it's likely not a religion from god.

    Man changes.

Just as you wouldn't treat your 5 year old kid the same when they're 15 or 25, we probably need to be treated differently than bronze age man or classical era man.

Who gives a rip what their motivation is? That motivation is absolutely none of your business.

Another genius who name calls when he's out of arguments.

This is getting stupider, exactly what non-Muslim violence are you talking about?

So you're for murdering humans, got it.

Lying doesn't help your cause, I'm not calling for violence, I'm calling for an end of the violence of abortion. You have a serious comprehension problem.

The stupid just keeps on coming, what violence?

Human nature never changes, that's why Shakespeare resonates today. Our gadgets don't impact that fact at all. I'm sure the people who first discovered iron thought they were pretty special too.

    Exactly.

They had a war with western Crusaders who came in the name of Jesus to slaughter those in the ME.

Do you have a problem with that???

OT Israel used violence to defend itself mainly, just like the US does. God never called for deaths of other nations just because they didn't follow Jehovah, the Jewish dietary and ceremonial laws didn't apply to them.

So now you're a shill for the Islamists? What Crusaders? If almost all Muslims are against the extremists, why would they be opposed to our wiping them out? Was France upset because we got rid of the Nazis?

Christianity has justifications for murder in the Bible.

And, we've seen Christian populations such as the Irish during the time of "troubles" commit terrorism.

The OT slaughter by Israelites at Jericho was a pure act of terrorism, slaughtering every man, woman, child and animal in order to convince other cities that they had no possibility of survival outside of surrendering their land and possessions.

Israelites slaughtered Midianite captives as well as tens of thousands of men, women and children, saving only the virgin girls to be divided between their generals.

Both these acts were blessed by God, according to the Bible.

Cite, or did you just make that up?

What teaching of Jesus were they following? That was tribalism, some leaders on both sides were agnostic.

That was because of the Canaanites gross immorality, similar to what happened with the Flood. From another source:

"The qualifier in this saga seems to be what is referred to in Genesis 15:16 as the “iniquity of the Amorites.” The nations that occupied Canaan had become so hideously debauched, so degenerate in custom and practice, that the judgment of God became imminent. We are told in the Mosaic account that God is preparing to act and His longsuffering is about to end.

For the land has become defiled, therefore I have brought its punishment upon it, so the land has spewed out its inhabitants. (Leviticus 18:25)
In the larger context of the writings of Moses, the Amorites are viewed by Jehovah as representative of the whole of Palestine. Further, it was as if they had become so saturated with corruption that the very earth itself spit them out.

Recent textual discoveries in Ugarit confirm the Scripture record of centuries filled with idolatry, sodomy, bestiality, sorcery, and child sacrifice. Consequently, each generation had polluted the next with idolatry, perversion, and blood. We must not read Deuteronomy 18:9–12 with an emotionless indifference in the way that some would read yesterday’s news. Parents offered up their children to the god Molech by fire. Child sacrifice is more than an unfortunate, ancient tribal custom. It is a hideous twisted ritual conducted by men who have reprobated themselves into beasts. Then again, the customs of Canaan are not really a quantum leap from ancient religious ritual to our current indulgence of “a woman's right to choose,” are they?

The problem of Jericho is easily solved. God has revealed Himself to us in the Bible just as He is. His self-revelation to Moses (see Exodus 34: 6–7) is very revealing:

And Jehovah passed before him and proclaimed, Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in loving-kindness and truth; keeping loving-kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity, transgressions and sin; and I will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children. ."

Interesting that those who think a woman has right to do 'with her own body' what she chooses deny God that same right to do as He wills with His creation. But do you think this command to the OT theocracy of Israel applies to Christians today, and if so, why is nobody doing it, Muslim-style?

    Answered here: http://apologeticspress.org/apcontent.aspx?article=763

Yes they were, alarming if you're under the misunderstanding God is some sort of pacifist. What exactly does this have to do with a thread on Christians and Muslims? You'll do anything to distract from the daily mayhem caused by Islam. Over the last month or so over 300 Christians were killed by Muslims in Nigeria. It seems you are either ignorant of that fact or don't care.
