Colorado Joins 11 States Agreeing to Shift to Popular Vote System

IT is like herding wild cats trying to teach civics to Democrats. They have no mastery of the electoral college system. They still assume they are part of a national vote. They refuse to understand we have the system where 50 state governments are electing the president and each government picks the electors.
Then in january after the election has ended,. the congress gets it's role in this and they add up all the electors. And certify them.

 

Schools are too often ran by and the teachers are Democrats and they simply do a lousy job teaching kids civics. They pass the kids and the kids believe in this myth called the popular vote.

The media promotes this view too. Awful teaching. I bet in Germany they understand our system.

This should be unconstiututional because it will result in a majority of States votes to not count for anything.

Do you really want the States with larger populations and mor representatives to the House and Senate to have an upper hand in determining federal elections?

The purpose of the electoral college is to take the advantage more populus States have. If States change the law individually they are making our votes void. Don't you get it?

The only point that was missed is that the Constitution put in a TERM LIMIT on amendments dealing with slavery in that they could NOT be passed within 2 decades of the adoption of the Constitution. That too demonstrates that the EC was a COMPROMISE reached with SLAVE OWNING STATES.

Time to scrap that crap and implement one person/one vote ASAP.

As far as lying goes, Trump has everyone beat. There are websites dedicated to debunking his "alternative facts". Trump began his presidency with lies about the size of the crowd at his inauguration by insisting it was much larger than it obviously was. He has continued lying on a daily basis. If lying is something that bothers you, you have hitched your wagon to the wrong horse.

 

Right now we have a president who represents only approximately one third of the population, his "base".

I just got tired and gave up. You can only say the same thing so many times and then you realize as long as they get the result they want, they don't care. In the history of our country, we have had faithless electors 197 times. It has never changed an election. I guarantee you, if Trump were to win the popular vote but lose the EC in 2020, not one of these 11 states and certainly not anyone here will be sticking by their respect for the popular vote.

Trump received just over 46% of all votes cast. That is significantly more than one third. You can point to opinion polls I suppose but those have had very little accuracy to date, where Trump is concerned.

 

Trump endorsed him and McCain did what he could to bring him down. Trump owes him nothing. The fawning over a war monger is something to see. He also was the one vote that shot down overturning Obamacare, solely to thwart Trump.

Tell us again how the US Socialist Party and Communist party aren't leftists. Tell us how they didn't say they would infiltrate the Demo party.

Yet sanctuary jurisdictions are operated by? IOW, once you have successfully violated our immigration laws, it is the Democrats who will unlawfully protect you from the lawful consequence of your misdeed, namely deportation.

Its been well established that the cages were under Obama. It would appear as of late that most of these new asylum claims are bogus, and part of an orchestrated effort to circumvent immigration law. You’re right about the Muslim ban — one of the stupidest things Trump has attempted. He should have simply declared a list of countries from which immigration would be temporarily suspended, but calling it a “ Muslim ban” was a major tactical error.
