Not sure what you don't understand. The constitution says that the states are supposed to appoint electors. An elector is someone who can elect. But if a state forbids their appointee from electing, then they're not really appointing electors, are they?

Non-sequitur. They represent the State and its citizens and cast their electoral vote.

That doesn't make them electors. If they can't elect, then they're not electors.

In the manner in which the state legislature decides and currently they all do it through a statewide vote. I don't know what you are missing.

If the state legislature decides whom you must cast your vote for, then you're not an elector. Electors elect. Elect means choose.

So we should never have a president serve in office, who received less votes than someone else. obviously

President Trump was right. The only reason Dems want to ditch the EC is because they can no longer win presidential elections under this system.

    IOW

Is that why trump advocated for getting rid of the EC back in 2013? lol

I didn't. I asked why you WOULD want that? If you don't want a president serving office that the American people specifically rejected, then you want to remove the EC. If you want a president to serve who the American people specifically rejected, then you want to keep the EC. Those are the only 2 choices.

I want a President selected by the STATES....where States are given a number of "allotments" based on their population (i.e. Representatives) and are allowed to cast those "allotments" as they see fit....and where the number of allotments granted to each State are not so wide spread where any one, two, or three States dominate the Presidential election just with their population alone.

So you want a president to serve that the American people rejected.

I find that un-American. We founded this country on the basic principle of self governance. Choosing who will govern us. Having a president serve that the American people soundly rejected is a travesty to freedom.

No. That is not what I said and no matter how you spin it to support your narrative, that it not even what I am even implying.

I said I want a President selected by the STATES. How can it be un-American when this method has been in our Constitution since the beginning. It seems to me that someone that wants to change the system that has been in place since the beginning would be more "un-American".

We are not a Democracy. We do not select our President by mob rule.

I will appreciate any explanation as to why your ego is so massive? This thread is not going to always be focused on you.

A shame none of your teachers managed to teach good civics lessons. I understand. Kids in school enjoy farting around in class.

    it's the only 2 options.
I already explained why having a president serve office that the American people specifically rejected is un-American.
I didn't say we were. I said having someone serve the highest office in the world, that the American people specifically and soundly rejected is un-American.

That might be the only 2 options YOU see, but that is not the only REAL options. Just because you pull stuff out of your ass, that does not make it fact or truth.
