Socialism vs. the American way of life will be on the 2020 ballot

Cressy, I am impressed by the right wing identitarian rage and fear of a congress critter who has held office less than three months.

 

Except in the came of hoover dam, there is nothing stopping private energy companies from trying to compete with the energy provided by the dam, and private companies often buy the dam's energy and resell it to their customers. The idea behind government controlling the means of production is that the government also bans private sector competition, and direct distributes the goods and services to the people, not through the market.

 

The Hoover Dam or the TVA government project, to fulfill classic socialism, would have required the US to nationalize and run the entire private sector and supply the goods and services to customers.

 

Regardless of what the leftness feels.....Trump and the Repubs have painted out the Demos and their Socialism. It will be one of the main concepts to beat over the heads of the Demos for the 2020 election.

The Demos know it and are desperate for voters. Hence their out babbling about letting 16yr olds vote. Let illegal Aliens vote. Get rid of the EC. Let criminals in prison vote.

They wont be able to change up the perception that the left has moved over to Communism light. The Country will reject them. Then they will lose again and throw another resistance tantrum.

 

We have a Constitution which limits our use of socialism.

No one in America, particularly the younger GenXrs and down to voting age, is afraid of "socialism".

The far right are wasting time, money, and energy in putting up an argument so easily knocked down.

If obamacare was not meant to fix healthcare what was its intent? If government taking control healthcare and forcing you to buy insurance isn't socialism what is it?

Gov't forcing any kind of wealth redistribution on the public - where the public is forced to pay - is a socialist policy. 100%. This does not change the fact that Obamacare was a ridiculously poor attempt at Socialized medicine - for the reasons described in my previous post.

Nor does it a policy "necessarily bad" because it happens to be a socialist policy.

 

Democrats rammed Obama care down our throats saying it would fix our healthcare system. "We're from the government and we're here to help". It's a socialist failure and doubling down won't fix it.

Indeed Dem's rammed Obamacare down our throats. 2) I have stated numerous times that Obamacare was "Lipstick on a Pig".

It does not follow that because Obamacare was a joke - that other socialist actions would not fix our system. This is logical fallacy on steroids .. and just dumb.

 

It also limits our use of capitalism. It was designed to allow the government to regulate the private sector to protect the interests of the people and the nation. We have always been a blend of the two.

The right oftens calls for complete deregulation, claiming that corporations will always police themselves in all cases, despite this being proven to be BS in almost every case where a regulation was removed. Corporations put profit first, and the health and safety of employees, customers, and the general public last.

 

Total liberal lie.

Properly run corporations, of which most are, understand failing to take care of employee's is an invitation to have a Union move in and failing to take of customers is a fast track to bankruptcy.

Seems like the answer to failed socialism by socialist is always the same. It wasn't socialist enough.

 

It's a well-worn meme that pops up every-time these types of discussion take place. Investing in social capital, education or healthcare despite it's obvious benefits and cost-effectiveness to society, is somehow the elites giving "free stuff" or the unworthy or stealing from the rich (worthy) despite the fact that much of that wealth is inherited through families and the worthy generally don't work a day in their lives or if they do they are petty managers who are grossly overpaid for activity that produces nothing in the real economy.

 

Yes but with just a few hundred million more killed off, it might just work this time.

More so if those killed, lean conservative.

Democratic Socialism, which both the Dems and the Pubs promote in their Big Government Progressive programs, is a great term.
