    I've lived through them all.
    1. I'd certainly go for Truman. Tough, honest, smarter than most and the right man at the right time.
    2. Reagan
    3. EIsenhower

What makes you think Jefferson will be in heaven? IIRC he didn't even believe in God.

He believed in God, his detractors such as Adams who was more puritanical tried to make him seen less so.

At first I thought you meant because he was a slave owner that thought slavery was evil but still profited from it.

Jimmy Carter only reached the rank as a Navy Lt. (O-3) while on active duty.

Carter never rose above the rank as a LT. while in the naval reserves.

Richard M. Nixon finished his WW ll active duty in the Pacific theater of war as a Lt. Cmdr (O-4) and was known as the best poker player in the Pacific theater of war.

Nixon remained in the naval reserves and was commissioned as a Commander (O-5) in 1953 and remained in the reserves until 1966.

Some how Nixon avoided from being called back to active duty and sent to Vietnam. ;)

Actually Jimmy Carter was never a nuclear engineer or physicist.

He took ONE that's ONE course on the subject when he was selected to be part of Admiral Rickover's team.

Not sure what point you were trying to make.

Nixon was 53 years old in 1966. That might have something to do with "some how"...…..

And all of the politicians you support and the one you and you Trumpsters worship cheated their way out of service.

But the hypocracy is noted, again.

Bush and Obama. They're a huge laugh when they get together. W Bush is hands down the funniest former president. Obama is not too far behind. Getting those two with Reagan in his most lucid years would have probably been quite a spectacle. After those, HW, Clinton and Carter

I’d wouldn’t mind living next to Andrew Jackson, he could challenge any potential burglar to a duel, while I’m on vacation.

    No question: George W Bush.

And he actually lives a few miles away from me in Dallas.

Actually Carter inherited his fathers peanut warehouse after his death and quickly made a great deal of money and a number of important investments.

Ronald Reagan was the last American President who served in the U.S. Cavalry (horse cavalry)
Reagan was already in the military on Dec. 7th 1941.
During WW ll if you didn't have 20/20 vision, you weren't allowed to serve overseas.
Reagan was transferred from the cavalry to the U.S. Army Air Forces and made training films on how to kill Japs and Nazis.

Nixon volunteered and was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific theatre of war.
He remained in the Navy Reserve reaching the rank as Commander (O-5) until 1966.

Was VP Nixon the first VP who was also still a commissioned officer in the reserves as VP ?

If Jefferson is in Hell I don't want to be in Heaven.

I am not religious I'm just making conversation.

Not really in my lifetime, but I'd like to live next to Millard Fillmore, because I'd like to ask him how it feels to be probably the most obscure president to posterity.

After that, I'd like to live next to William Henry Harrison, so I can ask him how it feels to hold the record for the shortest-term presidency and to be known by most just for that.

Why? As a president Jefferson is mostly overrated.

I agree completely. As a statesman and man of letters though he is unrivalled.

You should do this as a poll. I would choose GW as he seems a decent guy with 2 attractive daughters.

Interesting Nixon story but yes, I know which First Lady I'd like to have next door.
