Should he resign? Will he resign? Is this a big enough scandal to be concerned about?

He should! This his the second time in recent history that the Liberal party, and the prime minister, is caught in this kind of crap. They almost disapeared from the map the last time.

Yeah he isn't going to resign unless something more significant drops, which is doubtful. Besides, if he did, that gives the Liberals more then enough time to get someone new in place "new team, new Govt" and removes the Cons best talking point.

Sheer wants to hammer this during the election, and can't do it if Trudeau is gone. Which is why I can't believe he would call for that so early on. If your gonna push for it, wait until it's way to let for the Libs to vote in a new party leader.

Still though, they should burn for this. Focusing so much on Quebec's 4k jobs and ignoring ABs lost 60k jobs.

    Yup!

The former Minister of "Justice" and Attorney General was pressured to help a crooked Quebec construction company settle a criminal case and avoid prosecution over allegations that it bribed officials in Libya for large government contracts.

    How much, you ask?

    Lots.

    Fifty million dollars.

The AG (Jody Wilson-Raybould) faced threats and pressures from Trudeau to fix the deal.

That would mean doing injustice—not exactly her job title.

    Trudeau denied the allegations.

But it has all backfired and come tumbling back on him.

It has caused a national outrage — from St. Johns, Newfoundland straight across the country all the way to British Columbia.

The AG has resigned from the cabinet, and now so have others.

The fresh-faced, baby Trudeau is now the scorn of the people.

His troubled image plasters all the news outlets 24/7.

    It is not going well.

    He can’t find any sympathy.

His negotiation with Trump over trade was an embarrassment and a failure.

FINLAND: Government Collapses Over Universal Health Care Costs, #Bernie2020 Hardest Hit.
You’d think this was an international story with a domestic political angle or two, given the Democrats’ embrace of socialized medicine… but the American press has largely ignored it.

Yeah, he messed up really good on this one. Luckily for him, the summer break is coming and i'm sure something else will dominate the news cycle.

My Pro conservative buddy (who's originally from Ottawa so he knows a bit more of the inner workings of this stuff) figures at best, a 2-3 point drop in the polls for Trudeau.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/justin-trudeau-facing-renewed-calls-161353976.html

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is facing renewed calls

to resign after a secretly recorded telephone call between two

senior figures in his administration was made public, escalating

claims he tried to shield an allegedly corrupt firm from prosecution.

The 17-minute call took place in December between Jody Wilson-Raybould, then the attorney general, and Michael Wernick, then Canada’s most senior civil servant, about the engineering company SNC-Lavalin, which was accused of paying bribes to Libyan officials.

Mr Wernick is heard in the audio telling Ms Wilson-Raybould that Mr Trudeau is interested in having the firm avoid criminal prosecution in favour of paying a fine, repeatedly saying that the prime minister is in a “pretty firm” frame of mind on the issue.

"I think he is going to find a way to get it done one way or another. He's in that kind of mood. I wanted you to be aware of that,” Mr Wernick is heard saying at one point.

Ms Wilson-Raybould in turn pushes back, raising concerns that the conversation could amount to “political interference” and an attempt to breach her “prosecutorial independence”. She declined to push for the prosecution to be dropped.

Ms Wilson-Raybould was eventually moved from the role in January, one month after the phone call, and given the more junior position of veterans affairs minister. She has since resigned and gone public with claims she was inappropriately leaned on.

    How Nice?

If he continues with his tactics that he has used since 2015 P. M. Justin Trudeau could well leave the Liberal Party with fewer federal seats than Mr. Ignatieff did a few years ago.
