The so-called "Muslim ban" -- misnamed because there was no such thing as a Muslim ban -- did not violate the Constitution and in fact was in strict adherence to federal statutes, an errant ignorant arrogant activist district judge not withstanding.

 

Evey judge except the ones that agree with Trump are obviously errant, ignorant and activist. But then we all know that judicial activism only is relevent when the results are liberal.

 

Oh, please. When the practical result is banning all Muslims it is a Muslim ban.

There was a lot of ranting, raving, and arm waving in your link, but nothing that proved Trump violated the Constitution in any of its examples.

Not all, but in the preponderance of cases, yes, that is the way it turns out. The Hawaiian judge said he heard things that Trump said on the campaign trail that seemed derogatory to Muslims. "Seemed derogatory" doesn't count. Words said on the campaign trail are not probative and would not be allowed in as evidence in any decently run court.

This actually is a rather farfetched notion. No doubt Barr said it to an audience of one. Trump has been saying the very same thing for months.

It is a rather incredulous far right conspiracy that makes no sense.

Who conducted the spying? Well, according to Barr and Trump, the Trump administration, meaning the DOJ and the FBI, which was led by Trump appointees. The theory then speculates that two FBI lovers who were sending love notes (text messages) to each other were the leaders of this coup attempt. The theory bases the accusation on the contents of the love notes.

The theory goes to say that members of this revolutionary group included multiple federal judges who issued FISA warrants strictly on the basis of the Steele Dossier.

Devin Nunes, the former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee believed all this B.S., and he investigated the conspiracy theory for two years. He got nowhere. There is no report of his findings because there was nothing to report.

 

What makes it less believable than the RUSSIA! conspiracy theory?

 

Barr seems to be suggesting that he is concerned about how the Russian investigation got started. By using the incendiary term, "spying," rather warranted surveillance, he is intimating that there might be something untoward about the investigation of the Trump campaign team and Trump himself.

The investigation got started during the Obama administration, so it is reasonable to assume that the "spying" was conducted to do serious harm to Trump and his candidacy.

That is ludicrous for one very simple reason.

Voters were not informed that the FBI was investigating the Trump campaign for possible collaboration with the Russian government until after the election.

If this shadow group of government officials wanted to harm the Trump campaign, why in the world did they keep their investigation secret from the voter?

On the other hand, these very same government officials who Barr thinks spied on the Trump campaign made no secret of the fact that the FBI was investigating Hillary Clinton. That certainly did serious harm to the Clinton campaign.

That certainly helped the Trump campaign a great deal, and reopening the closed investigation of Clinton eleven days before the election contributed heavily to Clinton's defeat.

The Obama administration spying on the Trump campaign makes absolutely no sense at all. Yet, Trump's Attorney General of the United States believes it is a possibility. Trump and his fans believe this ludicrous right wing conspiracy theory because they need to counter the damaging Mueller Report with something.

After 8 years of Obummer's abuses and his activist judges, let's just say it's "reparations" and call it a day.

 

Voters were not informed that we were investigating Russian interference -- and in fact Obama put that investigation on hold around September 2016 -- because it was thought that if the public knew such was being investigated it could detract from the voters acceptance of a certain Hillary win. When Hillary lost they opened it up wide because an indication that Trump's win was fixed or faulty was greatly needed by the Democrats. Secondly, the government surveilling or spying, take your pick, on the opposition's campaign is in a whole other world (USSR comes to mind) than the FBI investigating with probable cause suspected crimes -- crimes by Hillary that the entire country knew about. Comey's very public announcement that Hillary was exonerated gave her a tremendous boost.

No, he wasn't talking about the constitutional so-called Muslim ban, which you are correct Obama didn't do. He was probably talking about other unconstitutional acts of Obama, at least one of which Obama readily admitted to. I mean he is talking about actual, not mythical, unconstitutional actions by a president.

 

Republican administrations spend so much time skirting the law and placating their donors, they have little time to really govern. Trump will set a new record.

 

They already know he didnt.collude with Russia. That's been made clear already.
