And if Cult45ers continue to call everything to the left of Atlas Shrugged socialist and/or communist (BOO!!!) the word will lose its meaning in the face of actual socialism and/or communism.

OTOH, maybe that's a primary feature of Cult45ism, and not just an annoying bug...

Always has, always will. They are the party that started the KKK and the far left embraces Nazi ideology. Sadly, far left progressives follow Bernie around like the Nazi youth followed Hitler. Dangerous and misguided and very violent.

Falsehoods. The Dems did not start the KKK, and the Nazis are extreme right wingers.

The GOP hasn't done any favors with their image and their brand, hardcore conservatives like Ana Navarro and Jennifer Rubin don't like the GOP.

Trump, LaPierre, Scalise, Hyde-Smith, Clarence Thomas, Bannon have been the face of the GOP.

Clarence Thomas is seen as a coon, bedwench, Sambo.

The National Rifle Association co-opted themselves in association with the GOP; they are a dwindling base. Don't get me wrong, they are a lot of gun owners who are not affiliated with the GOP. They are numerous gun rights groups that are not associated with Russia and the GOP.

Who cares whether the Nazis were left or right, I don't care about the ideology, the Nazis were bad people, period, end of story.

The GOP's older, more rural whiter base is shrinking.

Gun owners are not. Not all gun owners are Republican or Libertarian.

Minority gun owners lean D, because they see the GOP as racist, they vote on other issues.

I can guarantee to you that a majority of white NFL/MLB/soccer/hockey players/coaches are white male suburban Republicans.

The GOP needs to appeal beyond it's white base.

The Democratic Party needs to stop the far-left extremism and the bashing of white candidates/white cops.

Both extremes are too much in this country; it is a pity that Howard Schultz can't get traction.

The Founders' biggest mistake was that they created the two-party political system.

They certainly did leave a lot of room for improvement in that respect.
But they also left mechanisms in place for us to change it if we wanted.
If enough of us become aware of and then demanded it, we could for instance
simply replace our two-party-centric Plurlity voting methods with Ranked systems
thereby allowing both third parties and moderate candidates alike to become viable alternatives to what we're forced to choose between now.

Folks coming together and agreeing to rid ourselves once and for all of political gerrymandering would also help...

I don't seem to find any evidence that the GOP is shrinking, but if it's true, then it's because conservatives are essentially libertarians, and we don't particularly care for government solutions to the many problems we face as a country.

Government is not a cure, but a cancer.

It could be anything, but usually when making an argument, it's required to provide at least two premises that arrive at a conclusion.

Our lefty friends can't even come up with a single premise these days. Perhaps dementia?

Or reich-wing Cult45ers can't handle more than one premise at a time without catastrophic cognitive disconnect.

Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK or DPR Korea)

So Lil' Kim's Hermit Kingdom is actually a Democratic Republic?!?

Does having a word in a name make that thing that the name labels automatically take on meanings and properties of those words? Or is it more nuanced than that, and your tired, old, 'but this word is in the name!' shtick is revealed for the blatant shtick we all know it to be...

Thats the Hispanic in you, not the Christian.
Christianity is declining in all age brackets — all religious belief actually — especially in the youth. Which is one of the largest percentage of republicans by group. The next group is the silent generation which have 2 maybe 3 more presidential elections. With the courts stepping in and breaking up gerrymandering the next few elections could be interesting.

I love how the OP poses a question about the Republican base shrinking and is 90% so far has been discussing democrats.

Shall we go back to your Google search results, then? Because I'd luuuuurve to read your answer as to why you stopped at the name page and didn't bother to click the "Nazism - political ideology" button. Not conducive to the BS narrative you were spewing?

Will the word 'idiot' figure prominently in your answer?

    Duuuuuude!
