Control or persuade? For example, empirical science does not lie. Those who fear knowledge claim it is a lie. I imagine it took many many years for critics of Christopher Columbus to accept that the planet is round. The impulse from many Republicans is to deny reality until they look like total fools. Not really. The Democratic strongholds in Texas are it's largest/ most sophisticated cities. The backcountry is ruled by Republicans. Which one will prevail?

 

Dallas is flooded with illegals. The upper-middle class and middle class have left Dallas for the suburbs. White flight.

Artists don't support authoritarians. Artist's depend upon free expression to make their livings and authoritarians are against freedom in general. This is why so many people are against Trump
