But it is my right to sell cakes with names on them. And my right to refuse service.

if you want to do that as a public business, then do it without discriminating

if you want to discriminate create a private members only business

Sure, but does this mean that you don't think government can even change how Facebook is regulated? I, like you, don't think that at present, the government can stop Facebook from banning whoever they want to ban. However, this doesn't stop me from being open to a regulatory change.

In the same way that not just anyone can work for an engineering company? As in they need to be qualified?

I thought that you were talking about a Muslim butcher who sells pork and I thought that you were asking if they
should be forced to sell pork to everyone! Then I remembered that Muslims don't have anything to do with pork!

No. The state has no standing to regulate FB, no compelling state interest, and no constitutional authority.

And if it tried to, the internet is stateless. FB can offshore its operations quite easily.

Are you saying that websites are unregulated?

That doesn't mean that it can't be banned in the US.

Unless they are directly engaged in criminal activity (ie, drug dealing, child porn), no they are not. At least not in the USA. And in that case, they would be pursued on criinal charges by the FBI, IF they were located in the USA. We have some politicians (on both left and right), who would LOVE to, but as it stands today, I can post pretty much anything I damn well please on the interwebz - Nazi propaganda, torture porn, autopsy photos, LSD recipes, etc... The FCC does have oversight of ISP standards, but as far as content, it has no authority.

Of course the argument against FB is not content, but rather anti-trust. So in that case, even if the government were successful in breaking it up (as it did to AT&T in the '80s), it cold very easily offshore its operation. You do this by simply moving your hard drive to a different location (Hey just like Hillary!)

This ain't Red China, mate! And even if the newly-created Ministry Of Internet Affairs (which you'll never see in the USA) is successful in blocking FB like The Great Firewall Of China does (the Golden Shower, eerrrrrmm, SHIELD LOL), all you need is a VPN and you're back in. Which is exactly how the Chinese get on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Snapchat, Picasa, WordPress.com, Blogspot, Blogger, Flickr, SoundCloud, Google+, Google Hangouts, Hootsuite, The New York Times, Finacial Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Bloomberg, Reuters, The Independent, LeMonde, L’Equipe, Google News, many pages of Wikipedia, Wikileaks, yunno, all the sites that contain dangerous Western propaganda and detract from one's duty to worship the state, and OF COURSE, most importantly ALL THE PORN SITES!

Is FB any different the PF?
If you violate rules, they will ban you. PF does this all the time.

"We've always banned individuals or organizations that promote or engage in violence and hate, regardless of ideology," a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement provided to CNN Business. "The process for evaluating potential violators is extensive and it is what led us to our decision to remove these accounts today."
    From the OP link.
Now violence and hate is subjective.
But they didn't ban them because of politics.

Uh, child porn is content isn't it?

Lets take it to its logical extreme. EVERY SINGLE conservative individual and group is purged from social media. Not ONE SINGLE conservative voice left. Do you suppose that might be a problem for the country?

As I already stated, the FBI would “seize” the website as part of its criminal prosecution of something like a child porn site. The FCC does not regulate content, it does not have the jurisdiction. The reason the FBI can shut down a kid porn site is because it is a crime to possess and distribute child pornography. The site, along with any other assets, would be seized ad part of a criminal investigation and prosecution.

Not sure what you other point is about. Please clarify.

I think it is more dangerous when these charismatic purveyors of lies and conspiracy theories are able to gain a massive following, because their followers go on to become dangerous. Curtailing their ability to reach masses of people and create dangerously large cult followings is arguably a necessity to protect society.

Also, for those who understand 1984 and what it means to be "Orwellian," it's the Trump administration that is actually Orwellian, because Trump does not adhere to facts, but puts out his own version of reality for those he governs to accept and believe in, and he is constantly making blatantly false claims and statements. In his position as President, he is actually more dangerous by far than any of those personalities who have been shut down on Facebook. In fact, he has already inspired right-wing terrorism with his continued hyperbolic lies and attacks, and is doing nothing to discourage it. In fact, he has done too much that is harmful for me to sit here on a work day and list it all. But suffice it to say, he behaves like Big Brother and the real-world historical tyrannies by which 1984 was inspired. Like them, Trump has been at war with the truth and with those who refuse to stop telling the truth, especially the news media. This is free speech that Trump attempts to suppress, and he also uses his bully pulpit to attack individuals who likewise will not be silenced.

I'm not playing games! My point is that it would be TERRIBLE for the county and you would eventually say a big fat GOODBYE to conservatism! Agree or disagree?

Who are the conspiracy theorists in this list?

Did Bernie Sanders inspire the Congressional Baseball Shooter?

Has the media always been truthful about him?

    Disagree.
There's many ways to get out a message. Including starting their very own social media.
    In fact they have/had them.
    Stormfront. 4chan and others.
