    Don't you understand the concept of CHAIN migration? If someone brings in their sibling and that sibling becomes a citizen, and then they bring in their child - what is the relationship between that child and the original person? Nephew or niece right? Nobody is saying that people can DIRECTLY bring in their nephew or niece, or other family members outside of the above list!

    Yes. As a matter of fact legal immigration in the US is merit based. Seems its the definition of "merit" that is under discussion.

    Even family reunification and the diversity lottery require candidates meet all applicable qualification criteria



    There is a direct correlation that can be drawn.



    Heartless government. Heartless immigrants? You only wish you had the balls to go to a strange land and make the sacrifices needed to restart one's life in some measure of safety, liberty and opportunity so you can help that family you left behind.

    You think those billions in immigrant remittances to families back home are just sending a few bucks for birthday presents?

    Yes I fully understand the concept of family reunification.

    I am totally relieved you have figured out how it works. What's the problem exactly since each one of those relatives of sponsoring relatives still has to meet all the appropriate qualifications?

    I see family values isn't something you consider of much value when it comes to others families. Especially if they aren't american and even if they are american their ferrin families shouldn't count.
