"PROVIDE FOR THE COMMON DEFENSE" is a generalization in the Preamble stating the purpose of the Constitution. It has no SPECIFIC interpretation as you imply.

It does - it refers to the uniform and effective military defense of the nation.
Further, courts will not interpret the Preamble to confer any rights or powers not granted specifically in the Constitution, so your argument continues to hold no water.
Further yet, "..to provide for the common defense..." also appears in Article 8:1 if the Constitution, where it carries the same meaning.

We have a difference of opinion. That does not in any way compel me to wish for your death, speaking of disgusting comments. But you have given me valuable insight into the progressive mind and have proven to me yet again that intolerance is indeed the life blood of your ilk. Perhaps if a few of those French subjects did not have to rely on their government's monopoly of violence to protect them from the bad guys who shot up Paris and instead were able to possess the tools to defend themselves then maybe some innocent life would have been spared. But you are so blinded by your ideology that you can not (or will not) see that. Even though you have just now wished for my death, I will not return the volley but instead wish you a long and happy life and hope you never find yourself in a situation where your life is in danger but you have no means of preserving it due to your own ideological zealotry. Finally, I should hasten to add that wishing for my death as you have done here is all the evidence I need to validate the superiority of my argument - ad hominem attacks being the first refuge of the ill-conceived argument.

Same could be said for teachers, priests, cops, anyone in a relationship and just about every other group you can think of. 10% rule applies.

I can't say all the gun ranges I've been to have people like Mr. Rogers & his neighbors there. But for the most part the people at private ranges are okay. There are the safety Nazis that have gotten on to me for little things like not having the exact right target at the exact right place, or for shooting a centerfire rifle on a range for .22's and handguns (even though I'm stupid enough to shoot at the steel plates with them).

Some of the meanest people I've seen have been at military rifle ranges. Back in basic training, I busted out laughing at some guys who had to crawl back to the bleachers because they forgot their hearing protection. I was forced to crawl until I didn't think it was funny anymore.

Hang in there. There are millions of gun carrying permit holders and multiple states that do not require one not to mention by conservative estimates there are 300,000,000 guns and billions or rounds or ammo in the US.

You actually meet all kinds of people at Wal-Mart? That seems odd. I can honestly I've never hung out at a Wal-Mart meeting people. I go in, shop, pay for my stuff and leave. Maybe where you live Wal-Marts are more hangouts for people to meet others?

Thousands more of these videos. I rarely shop at Wal-Mart. Occasionally if I'm out of ammo.

No, their ultimate goal is a disarmed society. Obviously they can't admit that.

I prefer 'unnofficial' gun ranges. In WA, the laws regarding where you can shoot are pretty lax. You can shoot anywhere that:
    -isn't trespassing
-isn't near people doing other things
-has a natural earthen backstop (like a hill)
    -is safe (no one 'downrange')
-is not in 'high danger' wildfire conditions

Most commonly, this means almost anywhere on State or Federal land accessible to the public. These lands are patrolled by various LE agencies, and while I know people who have had LE stop by to make sure they're shooting safely and lawfully, I've never actually seen them do it. I would say its rare.

There is a permit required to access these areas, but its something like $30 for a year pass, and covers maintenance of the roads. Very reasonable.

I've been shooting in these areas for all the 10 years I've lived in WA. Most often I'll be the only one shooting, and the only people around are driving along the nearest road. But almost as often, there will be one or more other shooters out practicing, zeroing or just recreating. I've not once had anything that could remotely be considered a negative interaction with any of them.

Contrasted to my experience working at all hours in the streets of urban areas like Seattle, Everett, Olympia and Portland, I find it far more polite out in the woods with armed strangers than in well lit, well patrolled, largely unarmed urbania.

So then you really haven't personally met many people at Wal-Mart.

Question...you don't think there are ANY gun owners in those big crowds rioting at Wal-Mart?

This isn't a peer-reviewed research study. These are just my empirical observations.

I was referring to the video you posted. You don’t know that there aren’t any gun owners partaking in that “rioting”, hence why you avoided answering the question.

There could be, sure. But again don’t see how that’s relevant to my observations.

And I’ll add anyone in the video lawfully armed should lose their permit.

Because your premise is that all gun people are nice people unlike those who "riot" at Wal-Mart. But we've determined there easily could be gun owners who are part of the 'rioting' animals in your video. So it really all depends on the situation. Meaning, even gun people can turn into raving lunatics when Wal-Mart puts a TV on sale.
