You mean instead of ordering Barr to break the law, then holding him in contempt for not breaking the laws Congress passed.

Yeah, that would be a better way of going about it.

Yep, you are unaware how grand jury secrecy laws apply to the Mueller report.

I could live with it a bit more if the Exclusionary rule was used. You think someone is taking orders from the Kremlin? You find an unrelated crime after kicking down a lawyer's door? It is excluded. We are rewarding people with fishing licenses otherwise.

President Trump this evening has authorized and ordered AG William Barr to declassify any documents related to surveillance of the Trump campaign in 2016.

I expect the that valve on the pipeline to the senate judiciary committee will be opened for maximum flow of documents.

I don't pay much attention to Hannity, but I do know this wouldn't be the first crazy conspiracy theory he's peddled. Remember Seth Rich?

I agree. But we have to start from somewhere near the truth and facts. That means that the right has to accept the fact that Trump could not fire Mueller. If you honestly think that TB, all due respect but there is nothing to debate.

It's called politics and all though he could have that wouldn't be a good political play. It's just like chess grape you know that. Quit playing word games.

It doesn't matter what the “perceived” bias was. Trump, in legal terms could not fire Mueller, or even try because that would literally be the textbook definition of obstruction of justice. And keep in mind that in all of this, their is only “perception” of bias. Not one time, in one instance has the right been able to even show, let alone proves, that the investigation was changed because of it. NOt one fact has been challenged because someone was a democrat.

And perceived bias is a cop out. But lets say there was for the sake of this post. If “perceived bias” starts at “He’s a democrat”, then by that standard every republican investigator, legal analyst, or clerical worker who worked on the case at all must have used that same bias to benefit Trump correct ?

And also by that standard, then the Clinton email investigation was very bias because Comey was a republican.....right ?

“Good political play”? It would have been illegal. Ice, thats not up for debate.

What “word games” FFS ice, firing Mueller would have bene obstruction. There isnt a legal analyst in the world that would claim different other than those on Fox News. It’s embarrassing that we have to actually have this debate. The right in this country not only denies that the Russians actually did anything to our election, now they are trying to deny that Obstruction even exists

Then why haven't they pressed forward? My guess it is for a similar reason as to why Nadler and gang have made no effort to go view the 99% of the Mueller report that has been available to them for weeks now. They are not really interested because they know it will not lead to anything, and they now have to concentrate on the keeping the Mueller investigation in the news when it actually is fading into the past.

Actually he could have if he had rescinded the special-council regulations and fired Mueller himself.

    https://www.factcheck.org/2017/06/can-trump-fire-mueller/

Q: Can President Donald Trump fire special counsel Robert Mueller?

A: Not directly. Only the deputy attorney general who appointed Mueller can fire him and only for cause. But Trump could fire the DAG, or order the special-counsel regulations repealed and fire Mueller himself.

Dunno why you say that it's obstruction because it's obstruction.

    Dunno why you even care.

I think that the concept is an absurdity. "Oh, we failed to illegally overthrow the duly elected President, with our hoax. But, he tried to stop us!"

Calling them Democrats understates the reality. They were Democrat donors, one worked for the Clinton foundation, and one attended the Clinton election party. It's a bad look, is all that I'm saying.

And isn't it interesting that those who have long accused President Trump of 'lack of transparency' and 'covering up stuff' etc., are now screaming in protest and coming up with new narratives to attack him when they realize he is putting a lot of information out there for all the world to see. :)

Uh huh... and how much of that is related to anything PERSONAL that Congress is allowed to get??

Putting out documents from the DOJ and FBI have nothing to do with the 'most transparent president' ever...

I, for one, will not be falling for any of these distractions from the primary path the Congress is on today...

    God he makes me sick!

trump was just saying the he declassified a whole bunch of information but he doesn't know that it was. REALLY!!!! Why would he declassify something if he doesn't know what it is?

Then he told yet another lie about the FBI. Hey trump, a text message between lovers is not a coup!!! Idiot. What a lying POS.

Biden says he would like to take trump behind the wood shed. I would give everything I own to have five minutes alone with him. ;)

Do you think personal information about the President more important than what the government is doing, right or wrong, that affects Americans in the here and now and often for generations to come? How unfortunate is the TDS syndrome that makes hatred of the President first and foremost in the national discussion instead of an honest analysis of the effectiveness and any shortcomings of his policies and practices.

It could be, at least equally important.... If our president is doing (or has done) illegal or highly unethical things, the public has a right to know this, wouldn't you say?

For the record, I don't want anything on Trump's personal financials prior to the day he declared himself a candidate for President (UNLESS illegal activities are found and investigators need to go back further to see when it began).

Anything before that date is legitimately private... anything after that is not...

I am in favor of declassification to let EVERYBODY see these declassified documents.
