Daniels sees that ugly mob at Trump's rallies. "That's when I see the lies spewing at these people and people going, 'I got to believe in something and he said he'd bring my manufacturing job back and she didn't, and I'm all in.' But at the end of the day, aside from, 'yeah, I don't want to pay taxes,' it's race. It's race."

They think Trump won by appealing to a mob of racists. Leftists believe they have the superpower to read every Trump voter's mind and soul. They can imagine that Trump voters wanted lower taxes, but they can't imagine Trump voters wanted a more muscular foreign policy and trade policy or fewer abortions. Or that they were concerned about federal mandates spreading transgender insanity into every school.

And maybe they resented Manhattan and Hollywood elites telling them they better vote the "right way" or they'll be trashed as villainous racists. https://townhall.com/columnists/bre...aniels-and-the-arrogance-of-the-left-n2546824 The sheer condescending arrogance of the left talking down to us knows no bounds. They talk at us and belittle our concerns. They play the racism card when we working and middle class don’t vote the way they want us to.

Aren't you belittling the concerns of every average person who voted differently than you in the same way? Unless, of course you believe 65 million American voters were all "Hollywood elites". You are no different. You dismiss any concerns of any person to the left of you by calling them communists and socialists in the same way the "Hollywood Elite" dismisses you. You are no better.

When will the left accept that Heartland America as in flyover country has a different set of ideals and goals for our country than the bi coastal liberal elites do?

When will conservatives realize the the majority of the nation's GDP is generated by coastal states? Hard to separate one from the other unless you're willing to become a 2nd class economy.

He gained fame playing a guy who was cheating on Debra Winger while she was dying of cancer, then played Dumber to Jim Carey’s Dumb. Now, evidently he is playing fictional character Atticus Finch in a broadway production of To Kill A Mockingbird. Who gives a crap what he thinks?

Interestingly, I have frequently read (from the right) how unimportant the views of hollywood is in politics. And, frankly, I agree. But here you are, quoting one and creating a post about it...

The people that were there for the sole purpose of protesting taking down a civil war statue with historical value. His comment had absolutely NOTHING to do with the Neo Nazis in attendance.

When referring to the arrogance of the left, best not come across as a cliche. It might come across like an opening scene to a Rob Zombie film

We don’t vote by GDP. Can the coastal elites get by without food from red states and red regions of blue states? I live in a rural area of Ca. and we have much more in common with other rural states than we do with our coastal urban areas in state.

absolutely correct. Trump was very critical of the Nazis, white supremists, and the KKK there.

It wasn't just the racists, but also homophobes. Or is that being redundant? I'm not sure of the connection, but Evangelicalism, racism, and homophobia tend to come all wrapped up in the same package. Along with anti-intellectualism.

Quite the labeling stereotypes that you have the half of the country that didn’t vote the way you wanted us to presented. Fortunately those of us in Heartland America or as the intolerant ones in their elitist ivory towers of bi coastal limousine liberal infamy refer to as flyover country don’t care what you think of us proudly defiant bitter clingers to our God and guns that Hillary called deplorables. Obama told us our jobs, industries, and community weren’t coming back because he had no magic wand. Well Trump has it and we are coming back.

I wasn't labeling, I was describing. See that is a difference between liberals and conservatives. Conservatives try to describe liberals in ways that are purposefully misleading. It is a pillar of conservatism. Liberals find no use in pretending our adversaries are other than they truly are. Quite clearly, there is a core group on the right, that regularly:

    Defends sexual misconduct

    Is highly religious, ie Evangelicals

    Has a strong fear factor

    Loves their guns

Show a great deal of animosity towards Blacks and Hispanics

Greatly disapproves of homosexuality and transsexuals

Tend to be anti-intellectual and anti-science

Upon entering an impromptu debate with a conservative, I already know what he is going to argue, because I pay attention to what conservatives actually do.

So, you mean there's a "group" and not conservatives in of themselves? Who would've thought. If I were ever a conservative, I'd be a paleo-conservative. Pro Manifest Destiny, the American Empire should finally be formally recognized, a reassertion of the Monroe Doctrine which in this case means financial investment in all of the Americas so as to enable the migrants to return to a much improved state of living.

But financially investing in the Americas means investing in the United States of America. It means making it profitable to corporations by lowering taxes. Either we have a federal tax or a state tax, we can't have both. One of the primary reasons is that the federal government invests very little in national infrastructure. Hence the breakdown in talks, which is sad.

Our government takes this money in taxes, and can't even be bothered to use it for us. Not even when Obama had a supermajority.

Tax cuts do not create wealth. Never have, never will. Innovation does. Notice the extremes. In Kansas they cut their taxes, cut their regulations, all the Republican economic ideological bullet points. In Washington, quite the opposite. They increased environmental regulation and upped the minimum wage, and are now, economically, the king of the hill. You see, tax cuts do not create wealth. Innovation does. If you keep plowing the same old field, tax cuts won't make it any more productive.

What do you mean the "federal government invests very little in national infrastructure"? Have you not heard of railroads, highways, and airports? Bridges? Power Plants?

The breakdown is because there is no money for infrastructure. You see, the Republicans cut taxes, mostly for the wealthiest, greatly reducing tax revenues. Of course Republicans like to believe that the tax cuts brought in more revenue (which simple math contradicts) while ignoring the fact that the loss in revenue was made up by borrowing more money, greatly increasing the national debt.

In order to pay for needed infrastructure maintenance and improvement, money would need to be borrowed or taxes will need to be raised.

But then there is always Trump. Being the corrupt hooligan that he is, is trying to hold America's infrastructure hostage, as a way of getting out of being held accountable for his bad behavior.

See, Kansas cut the taxes but they didn't cut spending in accordance with their tax cuts. They spent as though they had that same revenue stream(they obviously didn't.) Government is a robber baron, it is the last remaining robber baron in this world. Note that I didn't even say a political party is a robber baron. Government is a robber baron, because in of itself it doesn't produce anything of economic product.

And what I'm saying is that if government actually cared to invest in the states, we could easily cut State taxes and only pay federal taxes. Right now, the effective tax rate(even with cuts) is still in the upper 30's/mid-40's in states with a State tax. Why do you think retirees move to Florida? No state tax. Texas? No state Tax.

Those states can afford it, due to the oil/tourist industry, but most other States are out of luck.

    https://www.usgovernmentspending.com/percent_gdp

Pensions/health care has devastated this country since 2012. It rises and continues to rise, and there's no meaningful solution to the problem. Infrastructure has become an issue because WE'RE all tired of driving on crappy roads.

Government IS the Robber Baron. He IS the rich. For the fifth year in a row, government has made over a trillion in revenue and we don't see it.

How long must we be enslaved to the government, under the theory that we will get the government's crumbs?(See what I did there.). Massive government crumbs is the same theory as trickle down crumbs.

Actually Christians led the reformation and renaissance. We are in favor of honest scientific inquiry. We are opposed to the bigotry of so called pro science consensus ideologies that label as pseudoscience all that disagree with them. They are the ultimate enemies of humanity.
