Trump descends to a new low, even for him.

I did not say I don’t understand his supporters, many of those who voted for him had valid reasons for feeling totally left out of the political process.
I was drawing attention to the blind support given him by most Republican members of Congress. They should know better. At least a few are now starting to raise their objections in public, more will at Trumps mental instability worsens.

 

Politicians don't matter. They live for votes, so if getting votes means wearing a MAGA hat and rolling up their sleeves to heft a ceremonial bale of hay so the ceremonial cow can ceremoniously eat in front of the cameras, then that's what they do.

There are many reasons not to like Trump, but who else is there? It's a case of walking into a bar full of ugly women and trying to figure out which one is the least ugly of the lot.

 

We must all try to understand. Trump is a sick man. Mental illness is just as serious as a physical illness.

I've read some of her emails on wikileaks. She spells like a teenage hoodrat and its amazing she made it past being employed as a walmart greeter.

I think that it is a lie, that Trump supporters were left out of the political process. They are the same people that voted for Bush. Mostly they were upset that gays could marry, Obama's father was born in the wrong country, and there was the possibility of "dreamers" becoming citizens.

Trump is not mentally unstable, he is just corrupt. Corrupt as hell. Excusing his bad behavior as a mental problem, doesn't address the underlying criminality.

 

Hopefully both parties will nominate less ugly candidates next time around. We can do better than last time. I thought that McCain vs Obama and Obama vs Romney were pretty good choices. Same with Clinton vs Bob Dole. It’s still early enough in the election cycle for both parties or even a charismatic Independent to put great candidates out there.

 

I’m not excusing Trumps behavior. As a psychologist once commented to me about a difficult student “Sometimes you just have to diagnose ‘More bad than mad”
Some of what you say about Trump voters may be true but you’re forgetting the suffering of all those in the mid-west rust belt who were ignored for far too long. And ignored by both Republicans and Democrats. As to Trump’s underlying criminality it’s more serious than that. Anyone as emitionally immature and tantrum prone as Trump should never be given the codes for the RED BUTTON. We can only hope somebody in the military had given him the wrong codes. I’m not optimistic though as the military in the US have a peculiar view of the Executive branch as almost Godlike or royal.
